Everquest Online Adventures is being shut down, and will close its doors on the 29th March. The game was Sony's first console MMO, being released on the PlayStation 2 in 2003.

No reason was given for the MMO being shuttered, but it's probable that with Everquest and Everquest II going free-to-play, and the PlayStation 2 being well past its prime, Online Adventures had become redundant.

Sony has announced on the PlayStation Blog that it is having a fan vote for the best PlayStation games in ten different categories. To entice players into voting, Sony is offering a Players Choice XMB theme - and for voting in the indie category, they'll receive a voucher to download a free XMB theme.

Killzone developer Guerrilla Games' co-founder Arjan Brussee has left the Netherlands-based company to become an executive producer at Visceral Games, which is best known for the Dead Space series. Guerrilla was started in 2004 by Brussee and Arnout van der Kamp.

Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson created a sir when he expressed an interest in funding a sequel to Double Fine's cult hit Psychonauts, and it seems that rumors have gotten out of hand, according to the developer, culminating in the report he allegedly stated he could cover the entire $13M cost of Psychonauts 2.

It seems that players will be able to purchase Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 separately, as an alternative to buying both in the Silent Hill HD Collection bundle.

This was hinted at when the PEGI ratings board listed two different ratings for each game, as well as the Collection.

Major Nelson has announced that a new downloadable content pack is now available for 400 Microsoft Points for Kinect Sports: Season Two. In keeping with the Winter theme, the "Midnight Mountain Ski Pack" is the second DLC to be released for the gesture-driven sports minigame title, which adds three new ski modes.

A lawsuit brought against Square-Enix over alleged "hidden fees" for the MMO Final Fantasy XI has been dismissed by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The ruling was made last week on the 20th December.

Many gamers have been clamoring for the return of Jimmy Hopkins, the star of Bully, and Rockstar is strongly hinting that they may revisit Bullworth Academy once Max Payne 3 is released. The game was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2006, then ported as the Scholarship Edition to the PC, Xbox 360 and Wii two years later.

South African retailer BT Games may have leaked on its online site a Jak & Daxter HD Collection for the PlayStation 3. Jak & Daxter had been all but abandoned since developer Naughty Dog has been working on the Uncharted series. No details about the game, such as what games it includes, were revealed.PS3 has been spotted on South African shop BT Games' website.
