Yager walks us through its spaceship combat game Dreadnought

As well as beavering away on open world zombie game Dead Island 2, German developer Yager is developing spaceship combat game Dreadnought, in which teams of colossal gunships blast away at each other.

I say 'spaceship' combat, but from what we've seen so far all the action seems to take place in the planetary atmosphere. Perhaps we'll be able to head into space as well. Here's a walkthrough video explaining how it all works.

Star Trek Online's second expansion Delta Rising is now live, adding a brand new storyline and several new mechanics all for the very reasonable price of free.

Set 32 years before the TV show Star Trek Voyager, the new expansion stars several members of the Voyager crew and takes players to the mysterious, largely unexplored Delta Quadrant.

Stealth 'em up Invisible Inc has just received its fourth Early Access update, adding two new characters, Nika and Dr. Xu, as well as cybernetic enhancements and a raft of minor changes.

Nika is a weapons expert who can handle two-handed guns like rifles and shotguns, while Dr. Xu is an expert hacker who possesses the very useful ability to hack terminals through walls.

World of Diving lets you explore the wreck of the battleship Bismarck in new update

World of Diving is a game about exploring the ocean floor with little more than a set of scuba gear and a camera. No harpooning sharks or battling giant squid, just you and your friends swimming about looking at stuff.

And the latest content update for the Early Access title adds another undersea area to investigate, namely the wreck of the German battleship Bismarck.

In a desperate attempt to stop absolutely everybody from playing as Claptrap, Gearbox is apparently adding not one but two new characters to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

We already know that Handsome Jack's Doppelganger will be one of those characters, and the identity of the second may have also been discovered - Aurelia the Baroness.

Final version of Dungeon of the Endless coming to Steam October 27

Amplitude Studios will release the latest entry in its Endless universe this month, with rogue-like dungeon defense game Dungeon of the Endless coming to Steam on October 27.

The game's been on Early Access since December 2013, but the complete version adds several new features including more difficulty levels, score tracking and co-op multiplayer.

Destructive Creations reveals Hatred, an isometric shooter with a mass killing agenda

Destructive Creations is a relatively new development studio in Poland that is working on its first game called Hatred, an isometric shooter that is all about killing the public and any law enforcement officers that get in your way.

You take control of a cold blooded antagonist, who is full of hatred for humanity. It's essentially a horror game, but what's different about this is that you'll be the villain inflicting the horror, as you travel the streets of New York blasting people through seven free-roam levels.

Infinite Crisis developer Turbine hit with layoffs, Warner Bros. confirms

Massachusetts-based Turbine, Inc. is currently being hit with an unspecified number of job cuts, Warner Bros. confirmed today.

Turbine are mainly known for developing MMO titles such as Asheron's Call and The Lord of the Rings Online, although it's currently working on the MOBA Infinite Crisis. Although information is limited, we don't think this should affect the development of Infinite Crisis or delay it at all, but we'll keep you posted if we hear anything.

Ubisoft isn't the most popular kid in the PC playground at the best of times, and if reports surfacing from a school presentation about game programming attended by developers from the company are to be believed, their reputation might be about to take another hit.

According to Reddit user Timois' summary of the presentation, a Ubisoft engineer suggested that console makers Microsoft and Sony are pressuring the developer into making 30FPS its default rate across all platforms - including PC.

Paradox Interactive is celebrating the one year anniversary of its free-to-play spell 'em up Magicka: Wizard Wars today, offering a special Imp skin to each of the game's 1 million registered users.

They've also released some interesting data on several milestones Wizard Wars has passed since its release on Early Access back in October 2013.

Halo: Spartan Strike, a sequel to last year's twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault, has been announced for Windows 8 devices and PC by Microsoft.

As before, you'll battle a horde of familiar enemies from the Halo universe in a top-down, twin-stick mode. This time around you'll also get new vehicles and abilities, and 30 new missions to complete.

Orcs Must Die!: Unchained, the free-to-play tower defence game that murders more orcs than Aragorn, is getting a new closed Beta update today.

There's a brand new undead hero called Ancestor to play, a new map, a Halloween makeover for existing map Cliffside Clash, and numerous bug fixes and tweaks.

Double Damage Games is a new development studio that was created shortly after the co-founders of Runic Games, Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer, departed in April of 2014.

Today they're excited to reveal their debut title Rebel Galaxy, which is an action, adventure space opera where you take command of a star cruiser to explore a randomly generated galaxy full of "mystery and danger".

Steam is kicking off a 'Free Weekend' event today, offering 10 titles for you to play for free until next Monday. There's some great stuff in there, too.

Beginning at at 10am PST (6pm GMT) tomorrow you can try out a selection of hits, including Company of Heroes 2, Awesomenauts, Payday 2 and the mighty XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Deep Silver has announced that its standalone Saints Row expansion Gat Out of Hell will be available one week earlier than initially expected.

Originally set to come out on January 27 in North America and January 30 in Europe, it's now due on January 20 and January 23 in each zone respectively.

Kasedo Games announced this afternoon that it's going to release its turn-based strategy RPG, Crowntakers, on 7th November digitally via its own platform and Steam on PC, Mac and SteamOS. There will also be a retail version for you box lovers, which will release on 28th November in the UK and Europe.

Verse Publications bringing point-and-click adventure, The Shopkeeper, to Steam this month

Verse Publications have entered into a partnership with Mastertronic to bring its point-and-click adventure game, The Shopkeeper, to PC this October via Steam.

The developers describe The Shopkeeper as a fusion between "the Twilight Zone, classic LucasArts adventures, and the Antiques Roadshow". It's a short-form multi-path game, designed for several play-throughs. The game looks like a graphic novel in style, drawn by comic artist James Brothwell, with the narrative being co-written by director Tom De Roeck and veteran RPG designer James Wallis.

Indie developer Four Lights announced today that it's releasing Defenders of Time, a fast-paced tower defence game, on Steam on 4th November for PC and Mac.
