Internet rumours suggest that Silicon Knights laid off 26f employees yesterday in order to reshuffle in size to prepare for several new and exciting projects. This cuts the staff level from 180 to 154. "Silicon Knights is currently working on several new and exciting games that will be announced to the public in the coming months," said Denis Dyack. | |

The first trickles of info have begun to pour from PC Zone's Deus Ex 3 preview article, chiefly revealing that it's a prequel set in 2027 playing Adam Jensen.
Some Deus Ex fans are a little riled but Eidos affirm that it's still a "hybrid action/RPG just like the first game." Health is managed Call of Duty style apparently; auto-healing. | |

In an effort to deliver the same experience for Skate 2 on both the next-gen platforms, EA Black Box producer Jason DeLong has revealed their strategy.
They'll focus on PS3 as the lead so they don't make the same mistake again, they want the finished item on both systems the same so you wouldn't "be able to tell the difference." | |

Phil Spencer, head honcho at Microsoft Game Studios has revealed to Edge that they've scored a "group of industry heavy hitters". Ex-Kojima Ryan Payton nabbed.
Also it was mentioned that team Bungie will be making a 'major announcement' in regards to the recently released Halo teaser trailer. The show begins on the 9th. | |

Valve's Doug Lombardi has revealed that their upcoming zombie kill-athon has already exceeded the Orange Box for pre-orders, speaking with VGChartz.
He said this was mostly down to the 10% off promotion which had "driven largely" the retail pre-order sales. The demo and a massive ad campaign will help that trend he adds. | |

Warren Spector has speculated (I couldn't resist) that the "hardcore folks" of his previous creations won't see eye-to-eye with this new game.

Tim Willits of id Software has revealed in an interview with 1UP that Rage won't be such a mammoth in size after all and could hit the digital pipes.
Willits said that John Carmack's comments at QuakeCon were "not true" and it is possible to pull off, they just haven't made their minds up yet if they want to. | |
