PC Demo for Lego Batman released

The Lego Batman: The Videogame story unfolds with Batman's greatest foes escaping from Arkham Asylum and creating mayhem throughout Gotham City. Tracking criminals, including The Joker and The Penguin, players will utilize Batman's gadgets as well as build and operate fantastic vehicles in one or two player cooperative gameplay.

Warner Bros. have now released a playable demo for the PC version, which you can download here.

Major Nelson reports that a demo for Madagascar 2 has appeared on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and is available in all Xbox LIVE Regions.

Altair learns to Swim in Assassin's Creed 2

In an interview with AusGamers, Prince of Persia animation director David Wilkinson has praised Alex Drouin, responsible for the animations in Prince of Persia along with Assassin's Creed, and in doing so he revealed that Drouin is working on the sequel to Assassin's Creed.

Wilkinson was asked about what Drouin is up to right now, and replied with: "He's busy making Altair even more beautiful. Last thing I saw him do was getting Altair to swim."

European release for Silent Hill: Homecoming pushed back

CVG reports that Silent Hill: Homecoming will no longer be released in Europe during 2008, instead it will be available next year in February.

Localisation has been labelled as the blame for this delay, although it has been out in America since late last month. While some think that the delay may have been made due to the average reviews that have been appearing from the US press, and Konami might be taking this chance to update the European version with improvements.

Palladion revealed, demo available now

The demo for Palladion has been made available on Strategy Informer, giving you a chance to try out this adventure game that has been developed by six dedicated Multimedia Technology students from the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences.

In a future war-torn world the teenager Nick searches desperately in a mysterious complex for his critically ill little sister Julie. What begins as a hopeless search deep underground ends as an adventure of epic proportions, which changes the lives of the siblings forever and opens new questions about what they thought they knew.

Ship Now, Add Co-Op Later for Christmas Titles

Shipping first and patching later is becoming more and more the norm instead of the exception. Recent stories indicate that both Fable 2, by Microsoft Game Studio, and LittleBigPlanet, by Sony will both ship without some of the features promised by developers.

The official MGS blog, Gamerscore, said recently that Fable 2 "will be able to play the single player and local co-op on day one, they are still making tweaks to the online co-op. Don't worry, it is definitely still coming". The blog post also adds that they expect to patch the game the first week after release to include the online co-op play.

Banjo-Kazooie remake appearing on XBLA November 26th

Microsoft announced today that Banjo-Kazooie, remake of the original Nintendo 64 game, is to be released on the Xbox Live Arcade on November 26th, 2008. The game will be priced at 1200 MS points and will contain graphical enhancements, along with achievements and gamerscore support.

For those of you that cannot wait until the 26th of November, Microsoft is planning to give consumers that pre-order the latest entry in the Banjo-Kazooie series, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, a free code to download the original title for free, two weeks before its release on the XBLA.

Frictional Games announces next Horror Project

Frictional Games announces that its hard at work on a new, currently untitled, horror game. The upcoming project is set in the late 18th century and will take the player on a thrill-ride through the depths of madness and explore the dark side of the human emotions. Frictional Games promises to deliver a truly frightening first person survival horror game.

The primary aim is to make the game as scary and atmospheric as possible. "There are plenty of ideas that we never realized in the Penumbra games. We think it is possible to go a lot further in terms of evoking unsettling feelings and a sense of dread in the player", says co-founder and sound designer Jens Nilsson. The atmosphere is not the only focus of the game though and Frictional Games is determined to deliver a solid gameplay experience.

Sega has released many Mega Drive compilation collections for previous consoles in the market, and now it appears that they could be developing a special Sonic Genesis collection for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

This hasn't been officially confirmed by Sega, but two retail listings would suggest that a Sonic Genesis Collection is planned, at least for a North American release.

Videogaming247.com is reporting that the CEO of Quantic Dreams, David Cage, has confirmed that the footage shown at E3 08 and at the Leipzig Games Convention of the upcoming PlayStation 3 thriller Heavy Rain will be included as a bonus scene. Speaking of the trailer Cage said, "It’s really a bonus scene. It’s not part of the main plot."

Mirror's Edge releases November 14th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation, PC version late Winter

EA confirmed today that Mirror's Edge will launch for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 14th, with US getting it a little earlier on the 11th. The PC version of Mirror's Edge will ship later in the winter.
