Monster Madness: Grave Danger for PS3

South Peak Interactive has announced that a new and improved Monster Madness is on its way to the PS3. Trumped as a huge improvement from "Battle for Suburbia" which was released on PC and Xbox360, "Grave Danger" is being revamped by Psyonix Studios with new camera angles, tighter control schemes, expanded multiplayer modes and updated graphics.

"Grave Danger" which was previously known as "Monster Madness: EX" will be reaching retail stores this summer.

THQ explains cancellation of Frontlines and other franchises

THQ recently revealed that the planned PlayStation 3 release of Frontlines: Fuel of War was canceled, but more details have now been released based on this during a recent conference call for investors following the companies third quarter fiscal results.

CEO Brian Farrell revealed that the cause for the PlayStation 3 cancellation of Frontlines was Epic's Unreal Engine 3, saying that it “just didn't perform as well in the open world as we would have expected".

Firefly announces Stronghold Crusader Extreme

Firefly announced last night that they are currently working on an “Extreme” edition of Stronghold Crusader, the medieval strategy game for the PC.

Stronghold Crusader Extreme will carry on where the original game left off. It'll feature massive battles, new outposts and tactical powers to master.

Lost Planet Colonies creeps up again

Lost Planet Colonies is a title that has been filled with mystery since it was revealed last year. In may of 2007 Capcom registered the trademark for Colonies with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Then the mystery was opened up again with everyone talking about a listing on a German USK rating board.

Now the title has appeared for the first time in 2008 with a listing on the ESRB website where it was rated “Teen” for the PC and Xbox 360.

RockStar didn't plan a Grand Theft Auto movie

Yesterday reports spawned across the Internet regarding the possibility of a Grand Theft Auto movie almost being put into production but the deal fell through last spring.

Rockstar boss Dan Houser has now comment on these rumours by saying that the MTV deal that they were offered was no more interesting than any of the other offers they had.

500,000 gamers sign up to Age of Conan community

Funcom and Eidos announced this morning that over 500,000 gamers from all over the world have signed up to become a member of the Age of Conan: Hydorian Adventures community by either joining the ongoing beta test or by signing up to the Clan of Conan official fan club.

“The massive attention Age of Conan is generating throughout the international gaming community is simply amazing,” says Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. “The game seems to be already striking a chord with gamers across the world and we are thrilled and motivated by all the positive feedback we have been getting from both the press and the community.”

Rob Rymond played Need for Speed: Pro Street and shares his impressions. This installment in the series breaks from it's familiar roots and takes a different path more similar to Gran Tourismo, except with more customization options. Using a legal track racing system, as opposed to the illegal street racing, the game does away with the open-city roaming.

The French rating company, PEGI has updated its website with three listing that could reveal which PlayStation one games will be appearing on the PlayStation Network next.

The three games that have been listed are Rollcage, Omega Boost and Devil Dice. Each of these titles have a rating of 3+ on the PEGI website.

EA LA manager David Silverman has revealed in a recent Battlecast web-based TV show that the company will be making an important announcement regarding Command & Conquer within the next few weeks.

"For several months EA LA has been keeping the mother of all secrets, and in only a few weeks a major announcement will come" said Silverman.

Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Software has revealed that the company is currently working on its biggest title yet. Pichford will be directing the game but says that he can't mention it publicly yet but promises that when we find out what it is we'll agree that he can't oversell it.

Japan gets new Satin Silver PlayStation 3 bundle

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced this morning that it will be releasing a new 40GB PlayStation 3 model that comes with a “Satin Silver” color and is to be released in Japan on March 6th 2008 at a retail price of 39,980 yen (£189). It will also allow consumers to use the new DuelShcok 3 controllers (which you'll have to buy separately), but place your bets now on how much this bundle would cost if it was released in the UK.

Activision has announced plans to release new content for Call of Duty 4 in the form of downloadable multiplayer maps. These new maps will be available to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions and will thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales.

South Peak Interactive could be set to release a Wii version of Runaway: Dream of the Turtle after the DS version has been released. It's currently available to PC users but was announced for the DS last year.

EB Games has a listing for the game under its Wii section with a release date of 1st April 2008. We don't know how they'll take advantage of the Wii remote or if this is actually true yet.

Microsoft releases Poker Smash this Wednesday for Xbox Live Arcade

Microsoft announced this afternoon that Poker Smash, a puzzle poker game with a twist, will be released onto the Xbox Live Arcade along with an update for Crystal quest this Wednesday.

In Poker Smash players must rush to clear rows of cards by arranging them into poker hands. To keep things interesting Poker Smash offers card-blasting bombs and a super slow-motion trigger for players caught in a bind.
