E3 2008: Duke Nukem Forever not appearing at E3

Just as we expected, 3D Realms long-awaited first-person-shooter, Duke Nukem Forever, won't be making an appearance at this years E3.

I'm sure many of you would have been interested in seeing a bit more about this, but to be honest a lot of us are probably thinking that we'll never actually get to see this game.

Microsoft talks to the world: PC gaming is looking up

In an open letter to the world, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of LIVE, Software and services John Schappert has told consumers that things are looking up for PC gaming.

He claimed that Microsoft had helped make the PC gaming platform the “largest gaming platform in the world.”

Ralph Eggleston, Production Designer for the soon to be released Pixar film Wall-E , recently told Edge that he is not threatened by the improvement in graphic quality in video games. Eggleston believes that the line between what he terms as “passive” movie entertainment and “active” video games will never be blurred.

Ubisoft in no rush for Assassin's Creed 2, "more anticipation for it"

During an interview between Ubi's North American president Laurent Detoc and Forbes, he reveals they plan to hold off Altair's return for now.

Assassin's Creed was greeted with diverse opinion. Detoc says that when they do announce a sequel there'll be "more anticipation for it."

David McCarthy discusses "peripheral strategy from EA Sports"

During his lecture at the GDC in Paris, EA's David McCarthy has revealed that they plan on including bundled peripherals with some future titles.

There was no mention of any platforms or anything specific on the kind of peripheral, but it could start "even within the next 12 months."

Console gamers splurge over $30K through "peak gaming years"

This comes from a recent survey conducted by GameStrata, a leading online community.

The results come from "North American video game enthusiasts showing that over their peak gaming years of 18-48 the average gamer spends more than $30,500 on games and gaming hardware."
