Crysis and Crysis 2 multiplayer "will no longer be playable" from May 31st

With the GameSpy Technologies shutdown this May 31st there are going to be a lot of games with any multiplayer, unless studios get patching. Crytek has confirmed Crysis 1 & 2 will be losing their online portions.

May 31st will be the "conclusion of online multiplayer support" as the GameSpy service shuts off. Both games' single-player campaigns are "unaffected by this transition,".

While Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is now out on iPhone and iPad, boiling the blood of veteran RCT fans. Atari announce the "completely different" PC version is due this holiday. It's a "multiplayer" version, apparently.

Atari say it'll have "even more social features" with co-operative gameplay. It's unclear if they mean 'more social' than the mobile version, or previous PC releases.

Wow. That's the only possible response to this frankly terrifying feat of gaming from a speedrunning team zooming their way through Valve's venerable sci-fi shooter, Half-Life.

The team, with members quadrazid, CRASH FORT, coolkid, pineapple, YaLTeR, Spider-Waffle and FELip, managed to complete the game entirely in 20 minutes 41 seconds, an astonishing nine minutes quicker than the previous record of 29 minutes, 41 seconds.

We've know for a while that Evolve, Turtle Rock's co-operative alien-hunting game, will have more than one big bad monster to kill (or play as, of course), but until now we've only seen one. With these six new screenshots, we finally get to see another.

PC Gamer are reporting that a "trusted hardware source" familiar with Valve's ongoing Steam Machines project has informed them that the Steam Controller will be released in October or November 2014.

A significant number of PC Titanfall players are reporting that the latest patch has caused some new performance issues. Users are complaining of markedly increased loading times, the game loading them into matches a few seconds after the game has started, and increased lag.

So this is pretty exciting for fans of Alpha Centauri, the beloved space strategy game released back in 1999. Civilization: Beyond Earth, announced this weekend at PAX East by developers Firaxis, is a spiritual successor to that title, and will take the series' signature hex-based empire-building into space.

If you're of a mind to watch the first half hour of the upcoming DLC for Batman: Arkham Origins, you can do so thanks to a video on YouTube.

Cold, Cold Heart features the ice-obsessed supervillain Mr. Freeze ("ice to see you"), and gives Batman a new suit and some new thermal powers that help him deal with Freeze's preferred element.

Titanfall: Expedition DLC will drop next month, free game modes also incoming

Titanfall: Expedition will be the first DLC pack to be released for Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer shooter. It's coming in May, according to the developer's PAX East panel. Additionally, players will receive new game modes in the form of free updates, with the first being a 2v2 version of Last Titan Standing.

Chris Roberts and Cloud Imperium Games are at PAX East and the long awaited dogfighting module for Star Citizen has been showcased live to attendees with footage now emerging. Chris Roberts is piloting a Hornet.

Comically things go a little wrong in the beginning as he crashes into part of a station and his ship disintegrates. There's almost 15 minutes worth of in-game footage so far.

Codemasters is once again teasing new game project announcements and remark it's "like the calm before the storm this week," while developers are "getting builds ready," and the PR staff prep their 'PR stuff'.

New DiRT and GRID titles have been teased for a while by Codemasters and it seems they're almost ready to show something. There's also more Formula One on the way.

A solo Adventure Mode has been officially announced by Blizzard at PAX East, where the card battling game will support a single player campaign called 'Curse of Naxxramas'. It's a PvE adventure for everyone to play.

We'll battle the lich Kel'Thuzad and his undead host. Iconic bosses will appear in five unique wings of the dungeon. A total of 30 new cards are introduced to Hearthstone.

The Early Access version of Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar is now marching into the fourth campaign chapter as Longbow Games releases the latest content update. They warn it's still a work in progress.

Group formation bugs have taken substantial losses in Longbow's assault, with auto-grouping "to come later". Siege mechanics have also been re-balanced and remain WIP.

Anselm Eickhoff is currently developing Citybound, an ambitious city builder, and he's released a new video with commentary on how far he's got. This marks his fifth weekly update on the "road to alpha" with big progress already.

He has connected his procedural building system to zoning, and a geometry system is now in to allow for more variety with building plots. It's rather impressive.

The Orcs Must Die! series is growing again as Robot Entertainment unveil the new Orcs Must Die! Unchained, although this time it's going free-to-play with a dash of MOBA, a pinch of collectible cards and a dollop of PvP.

It keeps its third-person view and colourful art style, as well as its strategic trap laying, but will now pit two teams of five against one another. We now command minions to attack.

Mars: War Logs developer Spiders Games will be releasing their new fantasy RPG Bound by Flame early next month, which has an extensive crafting system as they've already teased with trailers.

Now the studio tease the RPG's combat with detailed commentary on its mechanics, from the different skill trees to companions we choose to fight alongside.

The free-to-play shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms is now available to play on PC as it releases over Steam. There are three starter and advanced packs being sold at £6.99 and £18.99 respectively.

There's also a squad pack for £29.99. Yep - it's free-to-play alright. It's a third-person, team-based tactical shooter as you'd expect of the Ghost Recon series, with 16-player matches.
