Race the Sun, indie developer Flippfly's minimalistic plane racing game that passed its Kickstarter fundraising goal back in March 2013, is going into public beta. In this game, players race a solar-powered craft, using procedurally generated stages insuring every level is different.
The vehicle combat game MotorGun from independent studio Pixelbionic has had its Kickstarter campaign cancelled after less than 10% of its $650k goal was raised after a week. It may revive however.
Kickstarter be a "harsh mistress," said Michael Kaufman and Mike Arkin of the studio. They acknowledge that MotorGun just 'didn't resonate' with the community enough.
This October developer Milestone will be mudding up perfectly clean rally cars with World Rally Championship 4, as it comes to PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Vita. They thank the community for WRC 4's improvements.
The studio pledges "accessibility" for new comers, staying true to the license and "dynamic and competitive" online modes. They've also got a new Career Mode, weather effects and lighting conditions.
Codemasters has just released the Peak Performance Pack DLC for racer GRID 2, which adds six cars with unique paintworks, body modifications and engine tuning. Each are Tier 2 vehicles.
This latest add-on is priced at 400 MSP/£3.19 and is available now for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of GRID 2. The cars are for solo, multiplayer and split-screen.

Codemasters has announced more Formula One racing with F1 2013, and have also unveiled a limited Classic Edition that bundles Classic Tracks as well as 1980s and 1990s nostalgia in premium packaging.
The whole 2013 season is included in F1 2013, with all new enhancements, split-screen and online play. Gameplay footage has been posted. It releases this September.
Codemasters has announced that the Drift Pack, new downloadable content for GRID 2, is now available for the Xbox 360 (480 MS points), PlayStation 3 and PC (£3.99 / $5.99 / €4.99).

Developer Nadeo is releasing the first full expansion to TrackMania 2 this July 4th. It's called Valley and will be out the same day a little known nation celebrates the anniversary of its birth; I forget which.
Expect plenty of rally-style racing in Valley as this expansion, which has been years in the making, addings a 65-track campaign to TrackMania 2. It also adds loads of new customisable pieces.

Codemasters has added four new cars to the GRID 2 garage with the release of the Super Modified Pack. It's out today and will lighten your wallet by 480 MSP / £3.99 / $5.99 / €4.99 on Xbox Live, PSN and Steam.

Today marks the European release for Codemasters' GRID 2 which is powered by their EGO 3.0 game engine. It was out as early as Tuesday this week in North America, for PC at least.

While the visual fidelity of Need for Speed: Rivals on PC will be keeping pace with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, confirms executive producer Marcus Nilsson, he didn't say if the feature-sets would match.
