Action RPG Transistor from Bastion's Supergiant Games out on PC May 20th

The sci-fi action RPG Transistor will be available on PC next month, as it also arrives on PlayStation 4. It's developed by Bastion's Supergiant Games. Transistor will be at PAX East this weekend in Boston.

In the RPG we play as a young singer called Red who comes into possession of the mysterious Transistor, a powerful and intelligent sword. It's got turn-based strategy with real-time movement.

An interesting indie project is underway called Executive Assault, which combines first-person shooter with real-time strategy. It has achieved build 0.60 and its creator has released a new gameplay video.

It's far from finished but it's filling out. We plan and build our base, including our production facilities and defences, and then unleash our armies - but we can also play as the units.

Age of Wonders III is now out taking turns conquering desktops, but not everyone can have their thirst for empire quenched by official campaigns and scenarios. Luckily a "powerful Editor" shipped with the game.

Triumph have released a 13-and-a-half minute long 'Lets Edit' video where they explain how easy it is to create your own maps, campaigns etc. using the same tools as the dev team.

Triumph Studios will be releasing the first patch/update for the just-released Age of Wonders III "in the coming days", and they outline what'll most likely be in it. Higher resolutions for one with boxes and blurriness gone.

The team will adjust AI difficulty, and will introduce a quick save option - a must for any PC game. Triumph promises they've "many other updates and fixes" brewing in their alchemy lab.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback now in closed alpha, on Steam Early Access in Q2 2014

Full Control has begun the closed alpha for Jagged Alliance: Flashback with eligible Kickstarter backers being given access. The turn-based strategy ended its campaign with over $350k, and it launches this year.

It will be arriving on Steam Early Access in 2014's second quarter, and the Danish developer is eager to receive "early feedback from the community" through Steam.

Kalypso announce May 23rd date for PC Tropico 5, consoles later in 2014

El Presidente has decreed Tropico 5 for PC while take us away to the sun-kissed beaches of Tropico from May 23rd, where it becomes globally available. Xbox 360 and PS4 come later in summer and autumn respectively.

Another indie has taken to the skies with Airships, an RTS where empires unleash waves of - you guessed it - rigid airships. We design the airships with modules which have a tremendous impact on how they fight.

Airsailors ferry around resources within the modules to reload, repair and fuel the craft. We can fight against the AI but Early Access v2 has added Internet multiplayer.

SEGA has announced a standalone multiplayer Company of Heroes 2 will be released this June. The Western Front takes the RTS back to the Allied and German frontlines in western Europe.

It will launch for $19.99, with each individual army at a "minimal entry point" of $12.99. The US Forces and the German Oberkommando West will be squaring off online on the Western Front.

Creative Assembly have released a free update before the launch of Hannibal at the Gates for Total War: Rome II. The Seasons and Wonders update adds wonders and seasons to maps and the Grand Campaign.

There's also a unit roster expansion for Carthage, and support for Twitch streaming and even touchscreen. This update includes a new major patch with fixes and balance tweaks.

Eutechnyx has delayed the release of Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance by one week as it now releases on PC through Steam Thursday, April 3rd. It was originally due tomorrow on PC and mobile.

The studio also announces DLC packs on offer to grab new units. The Ork Stormboy, The Dark Angel and The Deathwing Terminator units will be available at launch.

Paradox Interactive's Rajas of India expansion for Crusader Kings II is out today stomping across the Indian subcontinent with its herd of mighty Sikh, or maybe Buddhist elephants. This is the sixth expansion.

A major patch has also released for all Crusader Kings II monarchs, bringing major map revisions and Steam Workshop and matchmaking support.

Reus developer Abbey Games is giving elemental titanhood a rest as they now look to explore the world and plumb its depths for treasures with Renowned Explorers, their first turn-based strategy title.

Think XCOM for the "entry point" of the game's strategy, which is joined by an overworld metagame where we recruit and globe-trot for fame and riches. Random maps are planned.

Developer Stardock Games has just released the first gameplay footage of turn-based 4X Galactic Civilizations III, which is narrated by the studio's Adam Biessener. This is alpha footage cut and edited 'for drama'.

Riot pull Night Hunter Rengar from League of Legends, refund testers, recites poem

The Public Beta Environment has had Night Hunter Rengar pulled from the roster as Riot Games say they've "gotten some really great feedback" about the skin. Refunds are on the way for those who tested him.

However he'll "definitely reappear" on League of Legends' PBE, but only after the team has achieved "his new and improved state." Riot top the refund with... a poem.

Julian Gollop, creator of the XCOM series, has said that "AI should be a lot better now," but that it hasn't really improved since the original XCOM's AI of a "few Kb" designed for 80386 PC. It hasn't leaped with hardware.

While XCOM: Enemy Unknown "does a good job" with its AI, it still "relies a lot on the player triggering stuff." It's behaviour-based and predictable patterns soon emerge.

Klei Entertainment has released the ninth update for Invisible, Inc. and they introduce augments to make "agent progression deep and meaningful," and these apply permanently.

Tier 2 guards are also introduced and have more health, deadlier weapons and they'll increase their variety in later updates. Klei have also thrown in a tutorial to "lower the insane learning curve".

What Relic Entertainment has up their content sleeve for Company of Heroes 2 will be known as the studio plans to deliver a session at EGX Rezzed next week on Friday at The NEC in Birmingham, UK.

Executive Producer Greg Wilson and Game Director Quinn Duffy will be flapping their gums at 3pm GMT on Friday, March 28th. They'll talk about Relic's history and future plans for COH.

Paradox Interactive have announced instant access for those who pre-order the turn-based fantasy strategy, Warlock 2: The Exiled. All game content and the editor will become available at launch.

Three editions are offered; standard, Lord Edition and Great Mage Edition at escalating prices and goodies. Paradox warn that Warlock 2 "does NOT support" Windows XP.

Paradox Interactive is unleashing the Rajas of war next week with their latest Crusader Kings II expansion. The huge subcontinent of India squeezes onto the world map for new sovereigns to squabble over.

This is the sixth expansion to the strategy RPG that is Crusader Kings II - the soap opera of grand strategy if you will. We will be able to control a Hindu, Buddhist or Jain ruler.
