Meet the Inquisitor, player character of Bioware's fantasy epic Dragon Age: Inquisition. His/her interests include smiting demons, trudging across awe-inspiring landscapes, and wearing impractical but awesome armour.

This latest trailer from Bioware shows off some of the looks and fighting styles you can choose for your own Inquisitor, and hints at his status as a kind of religious figure for the people of Thedas.

According to a tweet from the official Far Cry 4 Twitter responding to a fan question, Far Cry 4's main campaign will last "between 15 and 60 hours, depending on how you play."

As you've probably noticed, that's not particularly specific. Luckily Ubisoft Montreal's Alex Hutchinson also chimed in to claim the campaign would last around "35 hours".

Developer Young Horses has released two new levels, or 'shorts' as the team calls them, for slapstick physics-based game Octodad: Dadliest Catch.

'Dad Romance' and 'Medical Mess' continue the story of the base game, and are available for free to all owners. There's also a bunch of other additions, including multiple mice support for co-op and temporary checkpoints for levels.

There's life in the old dog yet - the number of World of Warcraft subscribers has actually gone up over the last three months, as anticipation for upcoming expansion Warlords of Draenor increases.

According to Blizzard the number of subscribers has risen to 7.4 million, up from 6.8 million since the end of the previous quarter.

I can appreciate a good title, and Bossa Studios' Deep Dungeons of Doom has one of the best I've seen this year. So well done for that, guys. The retro rogue-like dungeon crawler is now available on Steam.

Crusader Kings 2 covers an extra hundred years of blood-soaked, heretic-slaying, relative-murdering history with the launch of seventh expansion Charlemagne, available now.

Developer Paradox has also released a free patch to coincide with the DLC, which updates the main version of the game to make it compatible with the new expansion, and adds new nomadic tribal holdings.

Youtube user Westie and VG247 have teamed up to capture a bucketload of new Far Cry 4 footage, including a first glimpse of the game's co-op modes and a look at weapon customisation.

There's also a look at Kyrat's native wildlife, and how best to harvest their organs. It starts off with a man being attacked by a rhinoceros, and gets steadily crazier from there on in.

Full Control has released the last major content update for its turn-based combat revival Jagged Alliance: Flashback before it launches in full later this month.

Sci-fi MMO WildStar is moving over to new (and very exciting sounding) 'megaservers' this week, bringing improved server capacity, more players, more groups, and more opportunities for raiding and dungeoneering.

Megaserver transition begins on Wednesday October 15, with all realms going offline for up to 24 hours.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 producer Michiteru Okabe is a big fan of VR technology, and think that it makes "perfect sense" for the Resident Evil series and horror games in general.

"I'm really excited about VR," said Okabe, speaking to Game Informer, "I think it makes sense. Having gone from 2D to 3D, now it's time to surround yourself in these worlds instead of just having a screen in front of you.

Publisher Tommo, which specialises in retro titles, has teamed up with developer Night Dive Studios to restore and optimise several classic PC games, which will then be distributed through Steam, GOG and other online retailers.

It's part of Tommo's new Retroism brand, which aims to bring back beloved titles from "MicroProse, Accolade, Infogrames and other iconic publishers." The first games to be published are Sid Meier’s Colonization, Pirates! Gold Plus and Sid Meier’s Covert Action.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is introducing Music Kits, special packs that let you change the music heard in the game's main menu, as well as the various sounds you hear throughout the game.

So you'll have your own unique sounds for bomb warnings, round starting and round ending notifications and so on. You'll even get a signature tune that plays when you're the team's MVP.

And now for the year's least surprising news; Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed: Rogue will in fact be released on PC early next year.

Speaking to IGN, Ubisoft explained that Rogue took longer to develop for PC than consoles "primarily for production reasons."

You know the score; there are gribbly monsters trying to get from one side of your dungeon to the other. You must discourage them. Violently, with a selection of gruesomely efficient traps and spells.

Developer Spark Plug Games has shown off the first in-game footage from its upcoming MMO Firefly Online. Rather than space battles, this is focused on ship interiors and on-foot exploration.

Anyone who's watched the TV show knows that the crew of the Serenity spend far more time looting derelicts and getting into trouble on backwater planets than they do dogfighting.
