Ubisoft announced this morning that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Far Cry 2 will have new downloadable content released later this month, which is entitled the ‘The Fortunes Pack’ and contains new weapons, vehicles, and multiplayer maps.

The three new weapons contained in the new DLC includes a sawed-off Shotgun, Crossbow and a silenced Shotgun. The two new vehicles are the Quad and Unimog.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that Terminator Salvation - The Video Game is currently in development, an action-packed, third-person shooter, which is delivered simultaneously with the long-awaited film by Warner Brothers.

Midway Games announces a planned global ship date of February 16, 2009, for Wheelman, the upcoming open-world driving game starring action-film megastar Vin Diesel as an expert driver for hire. Set in picturesque Barcelona, the game is scheduled to be available in stores everywhere by February 20, 2009, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Co-produced by Vin Diesel and created in close partnership with Diesel's video game production company Tigon Studios, Wheelman is being developed by Midway Studios - Newcastle Ltd. "We're designing Wheelman to play like a Hollywood blockbuster," said Vin Diesel, Wheelman star and executive producer, Tigon Studios. "Playing this game will be just like taking control of the greatest car chases from feature films, except this time you're in the driver's seat."

Epic Community Manager SixOkay has published a list of known problems for Gears of War 2 on the official Epic forums, including acknowledgement for the slow matchmaking issues that many gamers have been experiencing.

Capcom has issued sales estimates for several of its upcoming big releases, putting figures together for Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, Bionic Commando and more.

Resident Evil 5 is estimated to sell around 3.2 million copies, with Street Fighter IV coming in second with 1.7 million units.

The office Microsoft blog, Gamerscoreblog, has announced that the remake of the classic arcade game Vigilante 8 will be available this Wednesday. The remake is expected to include nostalgic 1970s vehicles combined with modern day off-road physics engines and user customization.

The title will be available to Xbox Live Arcade users worldwide for 800 Microsoft points.

Evidence seems to be mounting that Rare is working on Killer Instinct 3 in spite of no official statements. Rumors have been reported on several internet sites regarding the title and Rare fansite MundoRare recently posted a picture of what they say is the Killer Instinct 3 main title sheet music.

Adding fuel to the fire is Rare itself, with the release of three new Viva Piñata vision cards for use with the brand new Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise. These cards will allow players with a Vision camera to import Killer Instinct like Pinatas into their games. Rare does have a history of teasing their previous Killer Instinct titles in other games.

Senior Producer Noah Heller for Treyarch told CVG that it's possible to see more Call of Duty games set during World War II. While Heller felt gratified to be able to be closing a story with the World at War release he added, "I can't say that there won't ever be a WWII Call of Duty game again, but we're glad we were able to end the war and we're glad we're going to support the title with lots of downloadable content."

Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters actor Dan Aykroyd told a Dallas TX radio station that the Ghostbusters title has been picked up by Atari and is now "about a year away" from release. Ghostbusters is a shooter set in the iconic Ghostbusters world and will feature voice and acting by Aykroyd and other Ghostbusters stars.

While no official word on the title has been released by any publisher, some internet commentators predict that information on the title may resurface later this year. Demos for the game were shown early in 2008 but since then no additional news on the title has been released.
