Thomas Vu, a producer on Spore, told CNET that their hotly anticipated life simulator will be "gold" in about a week. The game is dated for September 7th.
EA's Ricitello has revealed that Spore is likely to evolve into a publishing label much like The Sims. He also noted that game is likely to have multiple expansion packs too. | |

While not giving away a specific date for release WAR's creative director Paul Barnett revealed the game could in fact be shipped right now.
"It's just being polished and cooked," he said while speaking at the Develop Online conference. He confirmed without doubt that it is in a "shippable state". | |

The free-to-play and ad-supported Battlefield Heroes is getting pushed back to a release later this year to better focus on "social networking features" they say.
The first person shooter set in the Command & Conquer universe -- Tiberium -- is now expected to slate sometime between 2009 and 2010. No word on why though. | |

EA has teamed up with the countries east coast newspapers to distribute free discs with the full version of Spores Creature Creator as a one-time offer.
It will only be available this Saturday and five of Australia's territories will be missing out unless they can get their newsagent to score a copy of the paper. | |

An alleged tipster has informed the Diablo fansite DIII.net, that Blizzard has some big changes in the works for Battle.net including a "$6 key chain" for account security.
This keychain apparently has a digital face that updates with a new 11 digit number which is supposed to make it near impossible to "keylog or bruteforce accounts." | |

According to one bloggers Comic-Con experience, a rep from EA let slip that the publishing giant is looking into varying PC builds to meet the demands of today's games.
Apparently their first machine will be in time for Crytek's Crysis Warhead and will cost around $600 to $800 - if you believe the blog. Truthful whispers or wild imaginings? | |

Penny Arcade recently announced that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness would be making its play to the PlayStation Network, after the success it has seen on the already released Xbox Live Arcade and PC versions of the RPG-Adventure game series set in the comic-book-meets-pulp-horror-meets-H.P. Lovecraft deranged 1920s universe. During a Comic-Con Penny Arcade panel discussion, it was revealed that the series will span 4 sequels, with Episode 2 coming this fall. No further details on the next installment were revealed, but hopefully we will know more soon. | |
