Mass Effect trilogy "never confirmed" with Xbox360 exclusivity

Recently Australian blog site XboxOZ360-gamer claimed that BioWare's Ray Muzyka muttered confirmations the franchise would only touch the Xbox360, and not the PS3.

This, as a BioWare rep has been keen to point out, is factually inaccurate. With EA's acquisition of the studio its likely most games will be multi-platform in the future.

Microsoft have begun to detail what developers can expect from the new DirectX 11, which is said to be compatible with current DX10 and 10.1 hardware.

It will support new compute shader technology which will let devs utilise the GPU of graphics cards "as a parallel processor", and not just for "3D graphics".

THQ and GameTap have signed a deal that will see an array of THQ games appearing on the digital download distribution service.

The current list of games that are confirmed to be appearing on the service are GSC Gameworld's S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobly, Relic Entertainment's Company of Heroes, Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander and Iron Lore Entertainment's Titan Quest. Even more titles are expected to be confirmed soon.

Microsoft announced tonight that its Games for Windows service will have its very own online games marketplace this fall, sounding similar to that of the Xbox 360's marketplace.

The Games for Windows Live platform will now be free to developers and publishers looking to add PC multiplayer features to its games.

Deep Silver announced today that The Humans, a puzzle game, for the PC and Nintendo DS is currently in development and is expected to be released in Q4 2008.

Once upon a prehistoric time: the player's mission is to guide The Humans to help them solve the quests that they are set at the beginning of each of the puzzle festooned levels. To do this, the people must all pull together; the player must plan ahead carefully. Assign tasks to The Humans in your tribe. Guide The Humans using strategy and guile in order to avoid the deadly hazards and co-inhabitants of The Humans world. Add to the perils a race against the clock and this imaginative puzzle game will entertain and bemuse the strategist in the player.

For those who attended the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in '07 or this year and were given a serial number, you've been entered into the beta test for WoW's second expansion.

The news broke when Blizzard posted on the official community forums and said if you do have one of these codes they "urge you to register it immediately and without delay."

The Metal Gear Solid dev has said in an interview with the BBC's Click programme that there is "only so much we can hear or see."

Visuals and sounds can only go so far and that he believes the 'next level' will come when "we start improving the backgrounds," which isn't feasible right now with today's technology.

'Too Human' a multiplatform title says Australia's OFLC database

A report from Kotaku seers says that the official database for Australia's certification body has listed the Xbox360 exclusive from Silicon Knights as a multiplatform title.

They also show two builds were submitted with the second lowering the MA15+ to a softer M. Could we see Too Human causing a ruckus on PC sometime in the future?
