Brian Farrell, THQ’s chief executive told investors that their up and coming title, Saints Row 2 will be “very differentiated” to Rockstar rival GTA IV.

Featuring more "tongue-in-cheek" and "silly, over-the-top gameplay", Violation’s sequel hopes to stand apart from Bellic’s grim underworld-tale by including more customisation, a more integrated co-op mode and a “unique” combat system.

Paramount could get sued over EA's Godfather game

Reuters are reporting that author Mario Puzo's son is trying to sue Paramount over EA's Godfather game because Puzo's estate didn't receive any royalties from the games release.

EA acquired the licence from Paramount, and now Anthony Puzo is trying to claim over $1 million in damages.

The Spore Creature Creator has spawned over 250,000 new life forms in just one day from hitting the web.

Amusingly and disturbingly a number of taboo body parts have been either replicated or encompass new species as a whole. Yes, willies and boob monsters - for shame!

No title announcements from LucasArts at E3, "too much noise"

If you've followed the gaming news recently you will know that LucasArts blew a lot of employees into space dust, and the subsequent leaked 'secrets'.

Apparently though they won't be making any new title unvelings at this year's E3 event because of "too much noise" surrounding the show. Darn.

Ghostbusters material from Zootfly team helped

A while back Zootfly floated footage of a Ghostbusters game but had no license from Sony to do much of anything with it.

Mark Randel, president of Terminal Reality, commented in their interview with OXM that "what Zootfly did for us, inadvertently, is help sell the concept."

BBC spills beans on "whole new version" of Driver, Ubisoft quiet

The UK's BBC conducted a little video poke around at Ubisoft Reflections in Newcastle, where they report the team is "working on a whole new version" of Driver.

A later clip centred around the UK industry struggling from oversea tax breaks reiterates the studio is working on "the latest version of a popular driving game".

Whilst at an investors meeting John Riccitiello confessed to "torturing" the team behind the NFS franchise which led to the "not good" NFS: Pro Street.

The team has been split in two to ease the cycle load, something he feels will help them "get better from here."

Len Wiseman, director of Die Hard 4.0 and Underworld, takes the big job of shouting "cut" and is working along with Chris Morgan to scribble a script, reports Variety.

Our industries own Cliffy B is attached as executive producer and will be consulting on behalf of Epic Games and Microsoft.
