Activision shareholders are due to vote today on whether to approve the proposed merger with Vivendi. The deal would create the world's largest games publisher and Wall Street has tipped the new company to make a profit. The Hellgate: London dev, Flagship Studios, hopes that their new free-to-play MMO Mythos will "take down some" and "put a dent" in other rival MMO's when it launches.

Whilst in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Christopher Kline has said that mid-budget developers don't have "a lot of hope" in surviving the industry.

During an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Epic Games' Mark Rein says that Ubisoft's announcement to use stereoscopic technology in games isn't so clever.
Ubisoft plan to make a 3D game adaptation of James Cameron's 3D film Avatar, scheduled to screen next year. Getting a 3D monitor is the problem, "that's a big accessory" says Rein. | |
