Weisman hopes to 'bring back to life' Crimson Skies

Shadowrun Returns creator Jordan Weisman wants back in the cockpit of his 1930's air pirate franchise, Crimson Skies, and reveals he's "in discussions" with the current owners.

The era and "that story is one of my favorites," gushes Weisman. Crimson Skies is a 1930's alternate history where air travel is King, and the US collapsed, giving way to air piracy.

Rumours of Valve looking into some kind of Steam-related hardware product have just been given a huge boost in credibility, thanks to a job ad seeking an electronics engineer.

They'll join a team that's assigned "hardware design, prototyping, testing" at Valve, where the applicant will "conceive, design, evaluate, and produce" various physical gizmos.

Beamdog head Trent Oster has indicated during exchanges on Twitter that if Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition are successful, he may turn his eyes towards the game's cousin, Icewind Dale.

THQ: We won't ship Darksiders II til it's done

Darksiders II had been in development a long time before getting a 26th June release date in February. While THQ CEO Danny Bilson insists that the game will be ready by that date, he won't hesitate to delay it if the game isn't ready yet.

Focus Home Interactive has announced that the first downloadable content pack is now available for their Cold War-era real-time strategy game Wargame: European Escalation, and that the DLC is available for free from Steam.

Kalypso has announced that the official site for their upcoming pirates and merchants strategy game, Port Royale 3, is now live at www.port-royale3.com. The publisher also announced the release date for the game, which will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3: 7th September.

US consumer watchdog the Better Business Bureau has offered its verdict on the case of fans complaining that EA and BioWare haven't fulfilled advertised promises for Mass Effect 3.

They remark there's "no indecision" in an opening bullet point for Mass Effect 3 which states player decisions 'completely shape' the experience. The lesson? Be careful what you say.

GAME's near collapse depresses UK market

With the near total extinction of specialist retailer GAME Group, the UK market took a decidedly large hit in trade during March. Sales of games were down to just 2.7 million.

That's a 34% drop from the same period last year which cleared 4.1 million. Overall Q1 2012 physical sales lost 30% compared to Q1 2011. GAME couldn't source new stock.

Remember that scruffy looking nerf herder? Han Solo is the star of his very own, fan-made point and click adventure using the old timey SCUMM engine from the LucasArts house.

Some video clips show the would-be cabonite popsicle walking around Tatooine's Anchorhead, and even having a chat on the streets and in the cantina (pre-Greedo shooting).

Having already been revealed as a cover story on a German magazine, Dark Souls has been officially announced as a PC title by Namco Bandai. The game will be released on the platform as Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, and will be a Games for Windows Live title.

Swedish indie developer Fatshark has announced that their sci-fi action-RPG Krater will be landing on the 12th June; a Mac OS version will follow in July.

Krater can best be described as "Diablo in space", complete with crafting and exploration, as well as a meaty skill-based leveling system the developer describes as "consequence".
