EA has been very quiet on revealing many specifics about the new and improved Medal of Honor, set in modern day Afghanistan. Too quiet.

Luckily we press types are total blabbermouths, so OXM is teasing what they'll spill next issue. Actual "Tier 1 Ops" were invited to authenticate.

Andrew Reiner of Game Informer has slain rumours that Obsidian developed Fallout: New Vegas will strut its stuff front page next issue.

A forum poster has splashed loads of 'details' about the game, but Reiner casts major doubt on that too. "I'd say fake" he declares.

It's finally here, the open beta for the hugely populated onliner MAG. It's all about shooting stuff and working in teams with 256-players.

At least it is if you play the Domination mode, otherwise it's 64-player Sabotage. The open beta runs until January 10th. It's out on the 26th.

Wedbush Morgan's top economy-whisperer, Michael Pachter, believes that those ailing videogame cha-chings will pick up this year.

Retailers GameStop and Best Buy will have "solid" performances despite a "weak environment" says Pachter in his notes. Yay.

Activision plans multiplayer demo for Blur

According to a listing from the German rating board USK, Bizarre Creations are to release a multiplayer demo for Blur on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

There's no mention of a demo for the PS3 version, but we've contacted Activision for comment.

Painkiller developer People Can Fly, owned by Epic Games since August '07, has recently put their claim to 'Bulletstorm' - so it has guns then?

The Polish team have been mining pixels on a new action game since August '08 and this could be it. It's believed for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Sega likes to move fast and has already begun brainstorming some ideas for, "eventually," Alpha Protocol 2. The first game is nearly done.

Bug squishing is all that remains for the spy action-RPG from developer Obsidian. It was due out last year but Sega delayed till Q1 2010.

Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada has revealed they're open to a Final Fantasy game being made outside Japan, but still overseen by them.

Wada-san cites Batman: Arkham Asylum as proof the West can make games for the Japanese market; "it caters very much" to them.

BioWare has just confirmed that it's delayed the Return to Ostagar DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, across all platforms.

Bioware wasn't able to supply a new date for the DLC, which was meant to be released today. We might see this content in the next few days, but more information was promised as soon as it becomes available.

Platinum Games launches first countdown timer of 2010, announcement to come soon

Japanese developer Platinum Games has finished its work on Bayonetta, which releases here in the UK on 8th January for the Xbox 360 and PS3. But the company could already be set to reveal its next project, as a countdown timer has appeared on the official website that should be ending sometime this week.

Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond this week's XBLA release

Microsoft has confirmed that D3Publisher's Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond will be released on the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday.

The PS3 version will be released on Thursday, with both being priced at $15 / 1200 MS Points.

The first details on Fallout: New Vegas have emerged from the Gamespot forums, supplied by an Internet user who claims the information is from a trusted source.

The user claims that the information will appear in the next issue of the US mag Game Informer, although Bethesda refuses to comment on this.

Final Fantasy XIII's second week not so hot in Japan, still shifts 200k

The opening week for Final Fantasy XIII in Japan saw a gargantuan 1.5 million sales, smashing records in the face with no remorse.

The second week though fell from the stratosphere, managing to scrape by in comparison with just 200k sales. This is the Final Fantasy norm.

Evan Wells is co-president of Naughty Dog, and they're more than happy to stick with their PS3 guns right now, and just keep optimising.

The team is "pretty comfortable" with the PlayStation 3, and they're "really tapping" its Cell processor. Not "feeling limited" by the tech.

Bionic Commando "demonstrated the difficulty" of such projects. They're thinking up ways to "separate the roles" for studios in Japan and aboard.

Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Monster Hunter Tri and Dead Rising 2 have all been strategically re-placed "across all four quarters".

That's the quarters of Capcom's fiscal 2011, which begins April 1st. To tide us over we have Dark Void this January 15th, the one with jetpacks.

BioWare confirms that the latest DLC for Dragon Age: Origins will be going live tomorrow, for both Xbox 360 and PC, with PS3 later this month.

It transports you back to the battle of Ostagar, where the Grey Wardens got beat, with new armour and a second shot at the dog companion.

Well they *did* show it was coming in March this year. According to New Zealand retailers a full expansion from BioWare is nearly here already.

Dragon Age: Awakening is believed to take place after the ruckus of the main game, with a new hero and about 15 hours of new gameplay.
