Plan B Entertainment, that's Brad Pitt's production company, will be dealing with all that Hollywood silver-screen stuff for Dark Void.

This is Capcom's latest IP which is due out next year on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It's all sci-fi with aliens, jetpacks and the Bermuda triangle.

Corporate giant Sony are tired of losing money, so they plan on returning to profitability by the end of the next fiscal year - by going PS3 3D.

That and "introducing a subscription model" to online services, possibly, like the PlayStation Network. Firmware update will allow 3D games.

According to code rummaging enthusiasts, Infinity Ward has three 'hidden' multiplayer modes and one involves a nuclear missile silo.

The second is a capture the flag match and the third is VIP, where you protect or kill the important person. Planned as DLC unlocks?

WET developer A2M says ESRB gets cheated for lower age ratings

Remi Racine of Artificial Mind & Movement has said how many developers try and trick the ESRB into giving their games much lower ratings.

Lower age bands means more sales. The ESRB meanwhile says they take the ratings process "extremely seriously", they're not so naive.

Over on NeoGAF, a posted who claims to be an ex-Pandemic says it was all the studio managements fault, they were "given free reign".

Execs "dropped the ball" they continued, with the studio upkeep high but recent products "weren't up to snuff". The Saboteur 'sent to die' by EA.

Call of Duty to pickup third developer, Acti "considering" MMO title

A Los Angeles Times article claims that publishing giant Activision has enlisted a third studio to work on the huge Call of Duty franchise.

Their report says Activision are "considering adapting" it into an MMO, which is likely given desires to launch new "online monetization models".

Developer Polyphony Digital has completed the dynamic weather system reveals series boss Kazunori Yamauchi, but it might be left out.

It's about "whether it will improve" the experience or not. If those rain drops feel subpar then it gets ditched from the final cut of the game.

Uwe Boll's Far Cry goes straight to DVD

Another potentially disastrous movie from Uwe Boll has gone straight to DVD here in the UK, but Far Cry will also be making its way to the US on 24th November.

IGN has published the first trailer for the movie, confirming that this is probably another terrible video game adaptation from Uwe Boll.

Paul Helquist of Gearbox Software says 'The Zombie Island Of Doctor Ned' is "about the same size" as a starter zone, like the Arid Badlands.

It'll add "probably four to six hours" of new gameplay. The DLC "detects what level you are" so you can start playing it straight away.

The PlayStation 3 is getting its Video Store in Europe tomorrow, finally, so we can enjoy an avalanche of movies through our next-gen console.

It premieres with a "really strong offering" and Sony plan to grow its library by 50 films "per week," with 2,000 available from day one.

Famitsu magazine has unearthed Capcom's DLC plans for Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition, revealing a second new episode is on the way.

Lost in Nightmares is the first new episode and it's the one back in the mansion. Also joining the new stuff are two costume packs.

Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, formerly of Dead Space developer Visceral Games, now lead the new Acti Sledgehammer Games studio.

Both "are thrilled" to be building a new team with Activision. They left Visceral back in July, after having put the Dead Space IP together.

Capcom gamers will be delighted to learn that Lost Planet 2 plays host to Albert Wesker, an exclusive pre-order bonus, including his revolver.

That's not a euphemism. Wesker is Resident Evil's primary bad guy, and now he can battle aliens in Lost Planet's sequel, hitting February.

The veteran sees the "definition of RPG" as being "pretty broad" with Mass Effect as prime example. It's "as much a shooter" as an RPG.

Yes we read the closing down of offices and the laying off of nearly two hundred staff wrong, according to EA's statement on the whole affair.

Pandemic Studios isn't finished with, it's just uprooting all their left over assets to EALA. Its brand and franchises will "continue to live on."

Assassin's Creed II is the first Ubi title to feature Uplay support, which means actions and accomplishments earn "Win Units" to be spent.

It's like a micro-transaction shop but the points are earned from playing the games, which can then be used to buy "exclusive in-game content".
