Fans of the action adventure game L.A. Noire are still hoping that a sequel will be released, despite the closure of developer Team Bondi under a dark cloud of controversy. Rockstar isn't counting out the possibility.

Square Enix trademark 'Drakerider' and 'Blood of Chaos'

European trademarks for Drakerider and Blood of Chaos have been sleuthed and are owned by Square Enix. They've also registered corresponding Internet domain names.

What has the Japanese publisher got cooking? No one seems to have an inkling, except that Drakerider sure sounds like it'll involve riding a drake. Could it be that simple?

Schafer: Kickstarter pledges "a huge outpouring of goodwill... and money"

Double Fine's Tim Schafer says fans have asked/pestered "many times over the years" for them to make a graphic adventure title - Kickstarter a shot for fans to put "money where their mouth is."

Schafer knew an adventure game wouldn't get funded by a publisher. Guessed the first night might scrap in $2,000 - people told him it was "crazy to ask" for $400k.

BioWare has updated the Star Wars: The Old Republic community with news that they're "closer to figuring out a solution" to PvP match wins not registering properly on Ilum since the last patch.

Winning a PvP match will sometimes not register which adversely affect daily and weekly quest requirements. The studio needs to find the culprit from the 1.1.2 update.

Japanese analyst Nomura Securities expects Konami to increase earnings by 24 percent to ¥52 billion over fiscal 2013, which begins this April and ends May next year.

The following fiscal period will see the release of Metal Gear Solid 5, assumes the firm, with operating earnings to climb 15 percent to ¥60 billion. Does Nomura have inside intel?

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is forcibly retired from the UK all format chart throne by 38 Studios' RPG contender, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The Darkness II entered 3rd.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection sneaks about 4th, and FIFA 12 came 5th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 held 7th, and SEGA's Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games rocketed up 10th.

Ridge Racer Unbounded delayed, entering Retail on 30th March

Namco Bandai confirmed today that it has delayed Ridge Racer Unbounded by four weeks. The game will now be released on 30th March for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

"The development team felt they needed a little bit of extra time to optimise the game," said a spokesperson for Namco Bandai.

While the online portal Call of Duty: Elite has been a big success for Activision, with 7M members, 1.5M of whom are premium users who paid $50 USD for a year's subscription. However, Activision still feels like it "bungled" the launch, making users warier of the service than they should have been.

Power outage knocks out Steam, not the result of hacker intrusion

A power outage has knocked out Steam, as well as valvesoftware.com and steampowered.com. It was initially feared that the outage was the result of a hacking attempt, but, fortunately, the outage is merely due to Valve's data center's uninterruptible power supplies conking out.

Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 leaked by Korean ratings board

Korea’s Game Rating Board has leaked the existance of a third title in the Duels of the Planeswalkers series, as the board has rated Magic: the Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013.

While the rating was filed by Microsoft Korea, it's unlikely the company is publishing the game; both prior games were published by Wizards of the Coast.

Star Trek game to be delayed until 2013, co-published by Namco Bandai

Paramount Pictures has announced that Namco Bandai will be co-publishing the Star Trek game based on the JJ Abrams film reboot. The game has also been delayed until 2013, but not because of any issues with development, but because the major motion picture release of Star Trek 2 has been pushed to next year. The game is intended as a cross-promotional tie-in to the film.

One of the chief complaints about Diablo III since the beta was launched late last year was that it was kind of easy. However, Blizzard is letting gamers know that it's just the beta - in the full version of Diablo III, players will have a real challenge in the Nightmare, Hell and Inferno difficulties. "You will die a lot" is the main message given by a video just released by the developer, which originally aired during last year's BlizzCon.

Fallout 3, Skyrim visual artist Adamowicz passed away on 8th February

Influential concept artist Adam Adamowicz, whose work included Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Bethesda Softworks, passed away on the 8th February. He is credited with giving games like Fallout 3 their unique look through non-digital artwork. Adamowicz died after a long battle with cancer.

Valve issued update on 2004-2008 compromised data stolen by hackers

Valve has issued an update on the hacker attack on Steam that left transaction data from 2004-2008 compromised, including "user names, email addresses, encrypted billing addresses, and encrypted credit card information." Fortunately, the data did not include Steam passwords.

According to Gabe Newell, the people who have been conducting the investigation have stated that there's no evidence that the hackers have cracked the credit card data or billing address information yet, but it might be a good idea to monitor credit card activity all the same.

Sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent teased by Frictional

Frictional Games, who developed the horror adventure game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, have created a new site called Next Frictional Game.

The site is emblazoned with an Amnesia logo, accompanied by the tagline "Something is emerging..." In the background is a blurred out image of something, which could serve as a Rorschach test.
