Atari confirms Eternal Sonata PS3 for Europe

Atari and Namco Bandai Games announced today that European PlayStation 3 owners will see the release of JRPG Eternal Sonata in stores on February 2009, complete with new gameplay quests, a revitalised story, brand new costumes and additional playable characters.

With its vibrant visuals, innovative combat system and captivating storyline, Eternal Sonata has already won the hearts of western fans of Japanese role-playing games following its release for Xbox 360 in October 2007.

We've prepared another competition for Strategy Informer members! Codemasters were kind enough to provide some cool prizes to pack it with. SEGA announced today that a demo for Valkyria Chronicles, featuring 2 playable levels, will be live on PlayStation Network from October 9th. Players will be able to experience for themselves a taste of the incredible CANVAS graphical engine and the exciting action strategy that Valkyria Chronicles offers before the game launches on the 14th of November.

Ship Now, Add Co-Op Later for Christmas Titles

Shipping first and patching later is becoming more and more the norm instead of the exception. Recent stories indicate that both Fable 2, by Microsoft Game Studio, and LittleBigPlanet, by Sony will both ship without some of the features promised by developers.

The official MGS blog, Gamerscore, said recently that Fable 2 "will be able to play the single player and local co-op on day one, they are still making tweaks to the online co-op. Don't worry, it is definitely still coming". The blog post also adds that they expect to patch the game the first week after release to include the online co-op play.

JRPG Developer Level-5 Promises Game Revolution

The Japanese style RPG developer Level-5 has just unveiled a new countdown web page for an upcoming announcement scheduled for September 28th. The developer is known for their work on several PlayStation 2 titles like Dark Cloud 1 and 2 and Rouge Galaxy. According to Gamekyo, Level-5 recently published an advertisement in a Japanese magazine stating that "A game revolution is beginning" and that readers should "Wait for a shocking announcement from Level-5".
