Telltale expands talent with high-caliber hires

Telltale are pleased to announce that industry veterans Mike Stemmle, Justin Chin, and Brett Tosti have joined the company. These new additions come as part of a sustained wave of growth that has nearly doubled the studio's size since this time last year. The rapid growth speaks to Telltale's commitment to build and diversify the studio's product and platform offerings in the coming year.

SEGA Superstars Tennis set for release on March 20th 2008

Sega has revealed the official website for the European release of Sega Superstars Tennis, which is to be released on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PS2.

The website is fairly empty at the moment, although a release date has been published which lists the game as a March 20th 2008 release. You'll also find a trailer, screenshots, game info and a pre-order option for those of you that are interested.

GDC: Indie developers discuss what makes games

It's difficult to say what defines a game. Obviously, there are lots of different factors, and at GDC this morning there was a conference with three developers who were discussing just that.

What they talk about is actually very, very deep, considering things like the psychology behind gaming, what makes games fun, and what people want out of games these days. Headed by the main developers for flOw and Everyday Shooter, and one other indie developer, this is one of the few things about the gaming industry that makes people who work in it proud to do what they do.

Aerosmith to first rock, then trash the Guitar Hero stage

Activision has enlisted the rock legends for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, you'll be reliving this legendary band on their path to fame.

According to Best Buy the rocking won't be limited to just strumming the guitar, hinting players will get to fill all the roles of legends Joey Kramer, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Steven Tyler.

Asterix at the Olympic Games Review

Joe Bennett recently reviewed Asterix at the Olympic Games for the Wii. Not only did Asterix surprise Joe with how enjoyable it ended up being, but it also surprised him with its main game not being a basic collection of mini-games replicating Olympic events. Rather than a rival to Mario and Sonic, Asterix is actually a Platform-Adventure game at heart with mini-games interspersed throughout. Find out more about how he felt by reading our review.

New Guitar Hero game announced, not GHIV

As if life wasn't confusing enough, now Activision, our official #1 third party publisher in the states, decides to do this to us. The next Guitar Hero is going to be based around one band. Just one band. Now who has enough songs that are exciting and fun to play that could match, say, the previous Guitar Hero games?

Green Peace appears to be creating a campaign against the three power houses of the games industry in an attempt to persuade Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft to reduce the amount of toxic chemicals that are present in its systems. These chemicals contribute to the massive growth of electronic waste that's often dumped, causing widespread environmental pollution and health problems for unprotected workers.
