Duke Nukem 3D available from the Xbox Live Arcade on September 24th

In a short appearance on the Spike TV Channel, it was revealed that Duke Nukem 3D will be released on the Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday, September 24th.

The number of points that the game will cost has not been revealed, as Microsoft has not yet made a final price point.

RACE Pro releases exclusively on Xbox 360 in Jan 09

Atari has announced that RACE Pro, the realistic racing simulation game that is exclusive to the Xbox 360, is to be released in January 2009. The months leading up to release will be used to ensure that SimBin is able to create a game of the highest possible standard.

There will also be a playable demo released on the Xbox Live Martketplace before Christmas, featuring online multiplayer and single player racing.

Rise of the Argonauts releases in November 2008

Eurogamer is reporting that Codemaster's new title Rise of the Argonauts will ship in November 2008. The official web page lists Fall 2008 as the currently scheduled release of the game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC.

Capcom has a team of 400 working on Resident Evil 5

Capcom is raising the bar in how many people it takes to produce an AAA game by announcing that it have more than 400 people involved in the production of Resident Evil 5. Gamekyo is reporting on the extremes that Capcom has gone to in the production of this game, by quoting a Capcom report as saying that the "staff visited Africa, a new backdrop in the series, to experience the real Africa where the contrast between light and the darkness is stunning" and that it has "more than 400 people including company employees and outside contractors working on (Resident Evil 5)".

Capcom: All Major titles will be multiplatform from here on

The Capcom shareholder report for fiscal year 2008 has revealed a new strategy for the game maker. While Capcom has previously published titles exclusively for one home console system like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, from now on the company says that "All major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as multi-platform games".

Rare claims it was working on Avatars

Microsoft announced at E3 08 in July that the Xbox 360 would receive an update to its dashboard feature in the fall of 2008. Part of the announced redesign is to include customizable avatars that can indicate a users online or offline status, and even be imported into some games as playable characters. In other words, it's a lot like the Nintendo Mii characters for the Nintendo Wii.

Microsoft has recently posted a job opening for a Program Manager with their Halo Studio development team. The job posting gives hints at working on the next generation of software gaming technology and is clearly looking for someone that will "lead the development of the engine that will power future experiences for the next generation of gaming platforms."
