The latest issue of Game Informer magazine dishes the latest dirt on Epic's Gears of War 3, like the names of two new squad mates for Marcus.

Revealed also is the awesome digger launcher weapon, which fires subterranean "piranha-like" critters to seek and devour. Plus new Locust.

Venture capital group Prime Technology Ventures has just signed a GBP 6m cheque for independent developer Eutechnyx, for their new racer.

PTV say they give backing to innovative technology companies, and Eutechnyx made the list with their new title set to "revolutionise" racing games.

OnLive coming to Britain, partner BT unveils plans "later this year"

For 8 years OnLive, the cloud-platform service, has been in development and deploys in the US this summer. Already they have eyes on the UK.

The "extremely important" British market will get to experience OnLive thanks to telecom firm BT, the "ideal UK partner." Plans will arrive later.

THQ announces Metro 2033 Ranger Pack DLC for PC and Xbox 360

THQ has announced that it will release the Metro 2033 Ranger Pack DLC for Xbox 360 and PC (via Steam) soon.

The Ranger Pack adds new weapons, new achievements and the deadly Ranger Mode game rules. In standard Ranger Mode, ammo is dramatically reduced and all weapons cause more damage. Enemies will also be tougher, so watch out for that.

Ubi's RUSE to become "a key brand" in RTS genre, boost it up too

The real-time strategy space has been 'struggling' over recent years note Ubisoft, and they feel RUSE offers something "new and intriguing".

There's a "buzz of excitement" coming out of the game's beta tests, and Ubisoft are confident it will set up "as a key brand" among fans.

Microsoft has commented on its tag team with TV maker LG, as they work closely to promote 3D TVs in South Korea with Xbox 360 games.

More 3D titles like Batman: Arkham Asylum "are on the way," affirm Microsoft. The LG-Xbox 360 bundle is "specific" to South Korea, but may spread.

Namco reveals islands of Ibiza and Oahu in Test Drive Unlimited 2

The open-world racing antics of Test Drive Unlimited 2 from Namco Bandai and developer Eden Studios has not one, but two islands to play on.

Initially the game starts only on the island of Ibiza but an airport unlocks, letting drivers go to the original game's Hawaiian island of Oahu.

Halo 3: ODST perches above Halo: Reach in Xbox Live rankings

Including beta access codes to Halo: Reach in copies of Halo 3: ODST sure has given a major boost to ODST in the Xbox Live rankings chart.

The figures maybe fudged though as getting to Halo: Reach's multiplayer beta means firing up ODST. Modern Warfare 2 is still King of Live playtime.

Exciting news from publisher EA's latest fiscal chat-fest - we have their E3 2010 catalogue. Included amongst them is a 'new Need for Speed'.

This is likely the long awaited Criterion Games NFS project. No word if their 'marquee 3D' title is a brand new game or something upgraded.

EA delivers "more content to consumers", Online Pass will aid them

Speaking at their fiscal conference bash, EA CEO John Riccitiello said that their new Online Pass addition to Project Ten Dollar helps all of us.

Retailers, EA itself and gamers benefit. We should expect a “boatload more content" than we otherwise we get - "key retailers are supportive".

Zombie Cow making "totally crazy" Privates, educational and "filthy"

The UK's Channel 4 has asked Zombie Cow to make an educational game about diseases, of the sexual variety - much hilarity ensues.

Zombie "can't imagine" you have ever played a game quite like this, and Channel 4 has "been awesome" by letting the studio do their thing.

EA has announced that since March 2010, DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold over 5 million copies, with 4m of that in the first month.

Bigger news for multiplayer fans is the impending arrival of 'Onslaught' mode, a 4-player co-op trial for online squad mates to test their mettle.

Lionhead lead artist "bothered" by lack of wildlife in past Fables

John McCormack, lead artist at Lionhead Studios, has said how Fable's lack of animal diversity in its past has always bothered him a bit.

Things may change as they've "gone a little way" in improving the animal populace, but it's hard convincing AI/animation teams to work a badger.

EA reconfirms Dead Space 2 for PC

It was originally thought that Dead Space 2 wouldn't be developed for PC, but EA has confirmed that it is coming to PC after all.

The game is currently set for a Q1 2011 release, and is listed for consoles, PC and handheld/mobile devices.

Ubisoft gives first details on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Ubisoft has officially confirmed Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, the next game in the multi-million unit selling franchise. Botherhood will ship in late 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is being developed by several studios, which includes the Ubisoft Montreal Studio in collaboration with Ubisoft studios in Singapore, Bucharest, Quebec City and Annecy.

The single player mode promises to be improved, with Ezio returning in a struggle against the powerful Templar Order. Now a legendary Master Assassin, he must journey to Rome, center of power, greed and corruption to strike at the heart of the enemy. Defeating the corrupt tyrants entrenched there will require not only strength, but leadership, as Ezio commands an entire Brotherhood that will rally to his side.

It's always coming up in discussion eventually, about Blizzard moving their mega IP onto the home consoles at some point. How about StarCraft II?

Blizz are thinking about it, though "from our perspective it feels like" PC fits better with keyboard and mouse. They await an "optimum moment".

Some senior publishing source reckons that platform holders Microsoft and Sony will snip prices again in time for presents under the tree.

Sony UK has laughed off claims it could announce such plans, if they exist, as early as E3. Nintendo also have "no plans" to cut UK Wii prices.

Epic Games president Mike Capps believes their Unreal Engine 4, in the works since 2003, will maintain their market lead when it gets here.

Capps has "a lot of respect" for rival Crytek, but he's surprised that "people take them seriously" as a cross-platform engine outfit, like Epic.

Microsoft and manufacturer LG have entered into a 'memorandum of understanding' in South Korea, so Xbox 360 will help sell 3D LG TVs.

This could well expand beyond into the Asia Pacific region, if things go well. The 3D LED sets from LG bundle with 3D 360 games this June?
