Paradox Interactive today revealed the true identity of "Project Mayhem" at the Games Convention in Leipzig. The next Grand Strategy title to be released from the Paradox Interactive development team is the third instalment in the critically acclaimed Hearts of Iron series. The Hearts of Iron series has become renowned for beingthe biggest, most detailed and complete strategic game series on World War 2 ever made. Hearts of Iron 3 will follow that tradition closely while focusing on satisfying veteran players through a multitude of brand new features and systems, including a huge map with more than 10,000 provinces. | |

The Funcom guys are more than pleased with themselves to have enjoyed "one of the largest PC launches in this decade." No time for a quick nap though.
Aside from planning major content updates for Conan's online court they've also announced The Secret World - another MMO but with a real-world/secret world twist. | |

Remedy's CFO Mika Reini has posted a small apology and quick affirmation that Alan Wake, their psychological thriller, is still alive and chugging along.
He said he felt they owed us "all a small heads up," and says if everything had of gone "perfectly smoothly" we'd have it right now. Is this "all real or imagined..."? | |

Originally this was only extended to Collectors Edition pre-order copies but EA has decided to include the standard versions too.
Securing your copy with "select retail participants" will net fans access 11 days before the official release on September 18th. Closed beta gamers will crossover too. | |

Online retailer Amazon, probably the bane of many a development studio for blowing secrets, has listed 'Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor' for March 1st, 2009.
The price is 29.99 USD which was the same as the sales tag for the Opposing Fronts expansion. There's no other info on the site and nothing from THQ yet. | |

When Electronic Arts first expressed their desire to absorb Take-Two the board objected at their admirers undervaluing of the company stock - so the gloves came off.
Now all this hostile takeover business has expired with EA deciding not to renew the deadline anymore. Presentation will help EA "understand better the value" of T2. | |

Thanks to 9Lives, of which I'm sure we can forgive them being Dutch sometime, the World now knows what Treyarch's COD instalment expects of our hardware.
Call of Duty: World at War revisits the WWII ruckus that happened in the Pacific theatre and Eastern front of Europe. COD4's Infinity Ward picks up the tab again next time. | |

Acclaim's David Perry, no stranger to games development, has said that EA's unveiling of a free-to-play Battlefield Heroes one of the "biggest statements" they've ever made.
EA had already committed to free-to-play in Asia but only now have they decided to introduce it in the US says Perry, he has "incredible faith" that EA will "pull this off." | |
