FIFA 10 Demo releases on 10th September
EA has confirmed that a playable demo for FIFA 10 will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on September 10th in Europe and September 17th in North America.
The teams playable in the demo are Barcelona, Munich, Juventus, Chelsea, Bayern, Marseille and Chicago Fire. Exhibition match is available, but for the first time players will be able to upload their videos to EA's Football World.

Sega have been running a poll among retro fans to see what classic oldie they want brought up to speed for release on Xbox Live Arcade, and it's Toejam & Earl!
It would have been Earthworm Jim except that Interplay announced a remake was already in the works, so Sega reset the poll and another blast from the past was crowned winner.

DFC Intelligence's David Cole reckons there's a slim line Xbox 360 in the works, and that it's most likely going to be next year, "a major redesign in 2010" is their bet.
Project Natal "could also tie in" with redesigns for the Xbox 360 hardware, but there's a lot questions Microsoft "must weigh internally" first. Rumours have been going "for a long time".

The second piece of DLC for Mass Effect has been revealed, thanks to the official Swiss Xbox website. It's called Pinnacle Station, a "remote, top-secret space station".
BioWare reveal that Mass Effect 2 will be launching simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PC when it goes retail next year. They "learned a lot" from PC's Mass Effect, "put it back into 360".

Peter Molyneux has said the reason the first DLC for Fable II, Knothole Island, let gamers bring back their pooch was because of the "hate mail" they received.
The devs relented and let players optionally bring them back or not, but they won't be "as merciful as that" in the future warns Molyneux. Fable III has the hero take rule of Albion.

Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is now in talks to take the helm of the BioShock movie project, with director Gore Verbinski stepping down but still attached to produce.
This comes as Universal move to trim down the cost of the $160 million flick, they moved it abroad to shoot on the cheap. Uni has already vowed this won't be another 'Halo' incident.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is preparing his troops for the coming of the next generation of consoles, he wants to "be there with a good team" when they unveil to studios.

Recently a survey from Game Informer magazine, which sampled its own Xbox 360 readers, found that 54 percent of the consoles had suffered an RROD failure.
The accuracy of the poll has been up for discussion, but Microsoft nonetheless has responded, whilst not mentioning a single figure. It's the "superior entertainment console".

MTV Games has slipped out that Project Natal is being given some serious time with Harmonix game designers, oh, and that Rock Band 3 is currently underway.
Bossman Scott Guthrie said they "aren't standing still," and they're working with Microsoft to "pull some things together" between Natal and Rock Band 3. MTV Games in other genres?

Square Enix has said a Final Fantasy XIII demo for western gamers would most likely be "in a downloadable format," but not a localised version of the current one.

Project Gotham Racing developer Bizarre Creations is behind Activision's upcoming racer Blur, blending high octane cars with Mario Kart style antics and shenanigans.
The studio wanted to "move beyond traditional racers" and bring back some mayhem. It has 20-player online races with 4-player split-screen offline. It's for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Metal Gear Solid man Hideo Kojima says he's working on a new franchise, a title that he's wanted to make "for a long time", with his studio busy with multiple projects.
If Castlevania hadn't been developed next door to Kojima back in the day, and Capcom didn't put out Ghouls n' Goblins, then maybe there "wouldn't be any Metal Gear". Loves horror action.

At a preview event for WET, Bethesda's Peter Hines has teased an announcement is coming soon from the studio, and it's not iPhone or Todd Howard related.
Bethesda already have a hot year come 2010 with Splash Damage's Brink, id Software's Rage and Obsidian Entertainment's Fallout: New Vegas. 2010 is going to be one super year.

Speaking at GamesCom, Final Fantasy XIII bigwigs have dished that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be arriving in Europe at the same time, no "actual month down yet".
It's about 70 percent down on Microsoft's platform, they've yet to start debugging. The Sony title is much higher at 90 percent, and retails this winter in Japan. Voice work done.

Japanese developer Game Republic will be handling 'Crash of The Titans', which is linked with the upcoming cinematic remake, starring Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson.
It's an action-adventure title, and follows the mortal son of Zeus as he takes on some of the big bad nasties of Greek Mythology. What parenting. Namco say it'll be out spring 2010.

Todd Hollenshead, president of id Software, has confirmed they're thinking of splitting Rage across two DVDs and even raises the question of a separate multiplayer disc.
Having to swap discs in multiplayer, "that's fail." The studio is unsure if Rage will even make it onto just two discs, it could reach a third. They'll "probably have two DVDs" at the least.

The classic Bomberman franchise is still alive and well with over 500,000 copies getting snagged by fans on Xbox Live Arcade. Hudson Entertainment is giddy with glee.

Namco Bandai has revealed at GamesCom that they've teamed up with Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory, and are working on an Xbox 360 and PS3 title.
This new project pushes the "core strengths" of Ninja Theory says co-founder Nina Kristensen. The game itself remains under wraps, except that it's a next-gen title due 2010.

Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's community manager, has said that not holding a public beta test for Modern Warfare 2 isn't written in stone, but they have no plans for one.
Fans got a little worried it could harm the game when it finishes, but Bowling assures that multiplayer has been "a major focus for the team" since they started. So it's internal only.

With the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 coming in November at this year's E3, Valve has had a bit of a rough patch with the Left 4 Dead community; boycott pledges.
Only recently did Valve reveal a free campaign addition to the original game, and was summarily accused of banging out a quickie. Not so defends Valve, it was a pre-E3 thing.
