THQ boss Brian Farrell has graded his team's launch of Red Faction: Guerrilla with a "B", commenting they need to do "a better job" with day one demand next time.
The game has sold well, being a "top ten best seller" in the US and UK back in June. It's not over yet with Farrell pledging "continued advertising" and "new downloadable content."

Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter praises Blizzard on the "phenomenal job" they did with World of Warcraft's beta period, says StarCraft II likely "polished" already.
It's "highly likely" there's few bugs or issues, it's just now down to fine tuning balance through "a large scale beta". Modern Warfare 2 sales will offset a possibly delayed StarCraft II.

Developer Relic unleashes the huge list of changes today, Dawn of War II will be quite a different place when it goes live later tonight, around 19:00 GMT.
Not only does this balance the game more, especially for multiplayer, but it also adds eight new online maps to battle through and includes a map editor. Patch notes are available.

Chris Deering, formerly of SCEE, has said before we can enjoy "many successful blockbuster games" like in the old days, studios have to get lean.
Games must be produced in a "more efficient fashion," otherwise prices to support the industry like ten years ago would need to be GBP 70 a time. Don't have "that kind of money."

That 8.6 million figure of US retail sales for Blizzard's MMO includes the original game, it's two expansions and special Collector's Edition and the Battlechest bundle.

Lead designer Steve Masters has revealed the devs are hard at it, and the launch delay isn't time for slacking off as they're ready to go alpha and start polishing.
Conviction's levels are "largely complete" so now it's time to scour them for problems and ugliness - get them looking great, "and playing really well." Masters "would love" Natal in it.

There's been no word from THQ on the next instalment to the Saints Row franchise, and that's because it's "premature" proclaims CEO Brian Farrell.

The latest Splinter Cell entry has been delayed, much to the disappointment of fans but some took the time to build wish lists of things they'd like put it, and taken out.

It what appeared to be an 'official' announcement of something Twilight related, it turns out the 'developer' Brainjunk Studios has digs at MySpace - nuff said.
What's odd is the description that it would let gamers play from either "Bella's or Edward's perspective", but inhabit an online world? That isn't very MMO, EMO definitely, but not MMO.

The upcoming GamesCom in Cologne, Germany will have Final Fantasy XIV on show confirms Square Enix Europe, having been unveiled at this year's E3.
The MMO will be for PlayStation 3 and PC with Square planning a "simultaneous global release" supporting English, German, French and Japanese. Xbox 360 a possibility still.

Recently it was spotted that new survivor Rochelle of Left 4 Dead 2 was sporting a pink Depeche Mode t-shirt, and it was believed to be quite unintentional.

Yves Guillemot of Ubisoft says piracy has taken a heavy toll on them, with PC having "quite a lot" of illegal games compared to consoles, which "is low".
This tool, of which Guillemot didn't offer details, will "decrease" desktop piracy and will start next year, "and probably one game this year." DS getting better, with PSP looking okay for Ubi.
