PC Gaming Alliance trashes LucasArts' "uneducated" PC excuse

The president of the PC Gaming Alliance no less as come out swinging, at least in verbal terms, at the "uneducated response" from the company on PC gaming.

What's caught his ire is the lack of the Force Unleashed unleashing the force on desktops. LucasArts said it was down to the range of PC specs, and not enough high end machines.

A pesky few lyrics of the Quran have ruined the worldwide launch of Media Molecules LittleBigPlanet. Some fans petitioned MM and Sony to sort it out.

While a patch could easily nullify the track, Sony is concerned about gamers who don't have access to PSN and so ordered the re-mastering of the LBP discs.

NXE Live clearance in just 48 hours for XNA games submissions

Microsoft believe that once a game has been put together with the XNA tools it will take just about 48 hours to pass through "Peer Review" and on to Live.

This expectation is thanks to the arrival of the Next Xbox Experience which launches November 19th. Creators can charge for the games too but are subject to US tax.

SCEE issues new date for LittleBigPlanet in UK and Europe

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has issued a statement that confirms a new release date for LittleBigPlanet in Europe. The platform game will now be released on November 3rd in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, on a country by country basis.

Lionhead have announced that their toils over the co-op patch have been given the green light by Microsoft and will be ready for launch tomorrow.

You'll finally get to poke around your mates Albion, and maybe their spouse, whilst in the comfort of your own gaming lair at home.

Blizzard "not trying to replace World of Warcraft" with new MMO

It's official, at least if you believe CEO types. Blizzard's Mike Morhaime has stated that their new MMO isn't going to be a sequel to Warcraft.

Looks like the Blizz team don't want to accidentally release a WoW-killer themselves; they're making a "different massively multiplayer experience".

WoW Movie Still In The Works

Moviehole caught up with Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard and questioned him about a long rumored World of Warcraft movie. Morhaime responded saying, "there are still plans for a World of Warcraft movie. The script is being written but if they say anything more than that, they will be shot."

In spite of the tight lips concerning the project the movie is expected to take place a full year before events in the released game and is expected to star a brand new hero.

Valve Founder Says Gamers are Smarter Than Publishers

Gabe Newel, co-founder of Valve Software thinks gamers are smart people. In fact, he credits gamers as knowing more about making good games than the people who work for the game publishers. Newel is quoted in the latest Game Informer as saying, "It seems by and large that gamers are incredibly smart; the average gamer seems to know more about what makes a good game than the average person at a publisher."

SCEA Riding High Before Holliday Season

A statement released by Sony Computer Entertainment of America expresses confidence as SCEA prepares for the upcoming holiday shopping season. SCEA President, Jack Tretton, said, "If the impressive pre-sale numbers and ratings for LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM: Confrontation, and Resistance 2 are any indication, we anticipate hardware and software sales to continue to lift in October as we officially kick off the broadest and deepest software line-up this holiday."

The statement also revealed that sony has sold 232,408 hardware units in September 2008 which is a 94% increase from the previous month. And further sales of PS3 software have experienced an 130% increase over the last year.
