THQ submitted 50 Cent to BBFC, Blood on the Sand lands an 18

I'm pretty sure the mystique around whether THQ has or hasn't saved the game has evaporated now as it lands itself an 18 certificate in the UK.

It passed with "no cuts made" and it only carries a "strong violence" warning. This 50 Cent sequel is set in the middle-east as G-Unit tries to get back a gem-encrusted skull.

The company has decided to drop licensed properties that just weren't measuring up and has focused on "core properties," to hopefully boost the coffers.

Exactly what projects face the chopping block isn't known but DC Comics and TNA Wrestling are on Midway's 'good boy' list. Nothing like a good spring, or autumn cleaning.

In an interview with Wired, Rob Pardo has explained that while some may feel the game is polished and 'ready', they've really only just begun.

"I don't know how far out it is," he stated. He couldn't even formulate a vague idea when fans can get to rip open their Diablo 3 boxes. Mechanics maybe in but story isn't.

It seems someone's been squealing on the family as some of the first details spill out on to the Internet. Cash is going fuel that shopping spree, get grub and buy gas.

Set in the fictional 'Empire City' inspired by San Francisco and two main characters lead the story but you play as Vito. There's more but still no release date yet.

Blizzard likely to have a Diablo III beta "at some point" in future

One confirmed thing is that the demo showcased by the development team at BlizzCon won't be making it to the virtual seas, sorry guys.

The only place they were going to show it was at BlizzCon but that doesn't mean they won't whip something up for future events in demo form again.

Even though Rock Band 2 has braced some store shelves already, Harmonix today announced an update regarding the release date and pricing of the remaining PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii versions.

Interestingly, the Special Edition Bundle (made up of the microphone, wireless drums, wireless guitar and the game) will be available from October 19th on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately for Wii and PS2 owners, they'll have to wait until December for a full release of this exciting package.

Blizzard COO, Paul Sams, told Gamesindustry.biz that "a significant number" of players have returned to World of Warcraft after leaving it for Warhammer Online. When questioned about seeing a reduction in players with the release of WAR Sams said, "we've certainly had some (players leave), which is the same thing we experienced with Age of Conan and each time an MMO has come out we've seen some amount of reduction of use. The good news is that we've seen a significant number of people, well over half, that cited Warhammer as their reason for leaving - they've already returned."

The official Dev blog for Pirates of the Burning Sea states that a major revision of the sword fighting combat system is being worked on. Developer 'Isildur' posts that, "In short, we've been stripping avatar combat down to its foundation and building up again. We've learned a lot from the first major iteration of the system; we know what worked and what didn't, what was fun and what was dull. We've gathered a lot of feedback from you as well as feedback from our internal test team. We've applied that knowledge to create a new system that (in my naturally biased opinion) is much more fun and engaging, as well as easier to learn and easier to use."
