The studio pair has announced work on the next Carrier Command, which has gamers dusting off their strategic and tactical wits in air, land and sea.

Carrier Command: Gaea Mission will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime in Spring 2010. More Carrier goodness promised for Leipzig.

Nevrax went busto back in 2006 and while GameForge helped keep the science fantasy MMO alive it just couldn't hold on - its last server shut this February.

Fans now though have been informed the game is soon to return with character revivals and free VIP access for previous Ryzom subscribers. 'Free' - great word that.

Speaking with Reuters, Will Wright has revealed that EA has ambitions for Spore beyond the traditional boundaries one might expect with a life creating sim.

Wright said they're "basically planting the seeds to spread Spore" to a greater audience base, presumably to capture the attention of non-gamers.

A number of titles didn't make the shortlist when the deal finally went through with Activision Blizzard. Another casualty of the boardroom hitmen was Scarface 2.

Variety reports that the rights of the license have returned to Universal which may be looking to do something videogame wise itself - or at least find another publisher.

2K's Levine "loves" the world of System Shock, too busy right now

Speaking with videogaming247, Ken Levine has revealed he still harbours great "love" for Shodan and System Shock. He wouldn't turn down a third instalment.

Levine is already busy working away on a secret project over at 2K Boston, which isn't anything to do with BioShock 2 as 2K Marin has that covered.

Quake Live "very much an experiment" still - a "premium" service?

The latest issue of PC Zone mag got a hold of id's John Carmack where he talks more on the upcoming free-to-play Quake Live.

He affirms the browser-based game will be ad-supported but that eventually id could have "some kind of a premium service," they just have to wait and see how things go.

Codemasters announced today that the Overlord 2 is currently in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC for release in 2009.

Overlord II is the sequel to the original twisted fantasy action adventure and is now in development at Triumph Studios.

The Crysis Warhead system requirements have been revealed at the EA Store. As expected they are pretty much the same as the Crysis system requirements, the only difference is the required HDD space.

EA announced today that Crysis Warhead will be released in Europe on 12th September, with North America getting it slightly later on 16th September.

"We think Crysis Warhead is going to offer a tremendous experience to a wide range of gamers," said Cevat Yerli, CEO and president of Crytek. "Fans of Crysis are going to enjoy more of the open-ended gameplay, cutting-edge visuals and huge, epic battles from the first game, while also finally finding out what kind of havoc Psycho was wreaking on the other side of the island.
