 Konami Entertainment announced today that a free download for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots called the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database will be released via the PlayStation store on June 26th. Designed as a complement to the long-running Metal Gear Solid series, the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database is a comprehensive archive detailing characters, weapons and plot elements from 1987’s original Metal Gear title right through to the most recent Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. | |

 Sony Entertainment Online boss John Smedley told MCV today that PS3 is the "perfect platform" for developing MMO's on a console. “Probably the biggest thing we can bring to the table is just the experience of having operated an online gaming service for many years. "We’re happy to roll up our sleeves and offer assistance anywhere we are needed. We love making online games and we think PS3 is the perfect platform for doing that." | |

 While Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots may be finally closing the curtain on Solid Snake, Metal Gear will still go on says Ryan Payton.
MGS4 producer Payton said in an interview with 1UP that "it's really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That's all." He was happy to wrap things up with Snake. | |
