Kalypso reveal 'Dungeons - The Dark Lord', multiplayer arrives

Publisher Kalypso has announced developer RealmForge Studios is working on a Dungeons sequel, subtitled 'The Dark Lord', which includes 4-player multiplayer.

You can play as some of the bosses now too. There's an "extensive single-player campaign" with a new dungeon setting and 25 "prestige gimmicks." Excited?

Derek Paxton of Stardock, developer of Elemental: Fallen Enchantress, says big budgets tend to mean certain design areas you "cannot explore any more."

You can't have "some of the things that we love" if you want to "appeal to the masses." Being "middle-market" keeps things open. Paxton is 'reining in' Elemental.

Pride of Nations Demo Released

Paradox Interactive has announced a demo for Pride of Nations, a turn-based historical strategy game set in the colonial era of the 19th century.

The demo includes five tutorials for players to get familiar with the gameplay of the game, plus 12 turns of the Grand Campaign. The save/load function are disabled.

The Australian Ratings Classification Board has outed a new Worms game called Worms Ultimate Mayhem being developed and published by Team 17. The game is rated PG for featuring "Mild violence and crude humour; Gaming experience may change online."

Lead producer Chris Sigaty of StarCraft II has revealed the studio is hoping to have DotA (Dawn of the Ancients) ready to go alongside Heart of the Swarm.

It was put "back up in the shop" where Blizzard did "some massive overhauls", which they won't discuss. There's no word if it requires Heart of the Swarm to play.

Creative Assembly and SEGA have released the Ikko Ikki Clan Pack DLC for Total War: Shogun 2 which adds a whole new clan for single and multiplayer.

Eight unique unit variants comprise their ranks. Warrior nuns are included too which are usable by all except the Ikko Ikki, plus there's a new historical battle.

Syndicate reboot script leaks from Starbreeze, chunks online

Project Redlime is over at Swedish developer Starbreeze Studios and it's heavily speculated to be EA rebooting the Syndicate franchise, created by Bullfrog.

Well it seems a dead cert as a script from Starbreeze has leaked, and sounds all sci-fi and dystopian. There's dialogue, in-game promotions and news feeds.

King's Bounty: Legions announced

Nival has announced King's Bounty: Legions, which brings the long-time strategy game to Facebook, adding social networking and player vs. player combat, allowing Facebook friends to duke it out in the game.

Wizards of the Coast is excited for the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC launch of Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012.

It's out next month on the 15th. It's great for "smart, strategic and competitive" gamers and Magic is seeing "record growth". Better deck editing and co-op.

Robot Entertainment has released a new gameplay video in their series of trap types for Orcs Must Die! The new gameplay video features the Spring Trap, which literally catapults orcs into the air - often into a nice hot bath of lava or a cool refreshing acid pool. Ogres and other heavy creatures, however, aren't affected, and some speedy enemies just run over them without triggering them.

Time-travelling RTS Achron gets gameplay clip, in beta phase

Hazardous Software is making a time travel based RTS with singleplayer and multiplayer in the cards. It's called Achron and they've released a gameplay trailer.

Currently it's in beta which pre-ordering Achron lands you an invitation. A tournament for 100 testers begins next week. It's "easy to learn, tough to master."

Kalypso Media has announced that the closed beta for the free-to-play MMORTS Elements of War Online has now begun, and they are accepting beta applications as well. Elements of War Online is the multiplayer version of Elements of War, which was released a few weeks ago.

Fantasy tie-in A Game of Thrones is doing pretty well for itself on television, so Cyanide Entertainment hopes they'll capture the videogame equivalent.

It's an entirely exclusive affair for the PC and, while it "might sound pretentious," the team really believe it's "like no other" real-time strategy out there.

Killing orcs with an eco-friendly wind belt in Orcs Must Die!

Robot Entertainment has released a new Orcs Must Die! video showing yet another way to kill orcs - this time with a wind belt that basically gives you the fantasy equivalent of the Half-Life 2 gravity gun. Toss orcs into lava, toss explosive barrels into groups of them, or just shove them out of the way.

The September bound strategy title from Paradox Interactive - Sengoku - has just had its closed beta announced. Signups have begun for wannabe Samurai.

It's a "deep character driven strategy" title based in Japan, and we play the head of an "illustrious" family of Samurai. This is internally developed by Paradox.
