Raven's Dan Vondrak, the team behind the upcoming videogame, has told EGM that once you go Wolverine it'll be hard turning back for speed of action.

As for influences on gameplay and design go, God of War, Devil May Cry and "even Super Smash Bros., to a point" all helped fuel inspiration for the Raven team.

Those who live in the land of 50 states, federalised government and have a wavy flag with stripes and stars can get their mitts on the demo earlier.

To do so you need only pre-order PS3's Killzone 2 with GameStop, otherwise you'll need to wait like the rest of us around the world. The game releases on February 27th.

UPDATE: SCEE has confirmed that a demo for Killzone 2 will definately hit Europe, but no date has been mentioned. A pre-order scheme similar to GameStop's is also unlikely.

Reports that executives from Microsoft would be entertaining virtual corporate meetings through Sony's Home are untrue says the company.

They're happy with their own in-house tools and solutions for that, and are obviously not keen to give Sony a big Cheshire cat grin, or to spill secrets through Sony servers.

Treasure CEO Masato Maegawa has revealed in an interview with Gamasutra that Microsoft has requested they work on bringing the 1998 cult classic to XBLA.

An arcade original, and released on SEGA Saturn in Japan, it picked up quite the following despite never being released in the west. It's "not as simple as just saying" okay though.

Microsoft wants their stuff back, preps legal attacks on Woolworths

With the collapse of UK retailer Woolworths there's been a lot of trouble brewing, but now more so as its distribution arm still has stock they didn't pay for.

Microsoft want their gear back, as do EMI, and can under "retention of title" law if the stock hasn't been paid for or in exchange for debt owed. It's better than having it sold cheaply.

Xbox 360 climbs to 28 million unit sales

Even with the economic downturn, the gaming industry held strong in 2008 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 recorded the biggest year in Xbox history, with more consoles, games and online experiences sold than any previous year. The Xbox 360 unit sales climbed to 28 million consoles worldwide - expanding the product's lead over Sony PlayStation 3 to more than 8 million units.

Kojima teams need to "challenge foreign creators" better or else

Hideo Kojima, speaking with Famitsu, has said Kojima Productions must work to ensure their games can "translate globally."

He reveals they're currently "reviewing everything" they can to see how they can match the rising success of western studios. They need to appeal to more than just the home Japanese market.

Mark Rein details upcoming Gears of War 2 Patch

Epic Games vice president Mark Rein has published a New Year post on the official Gears of War 2 forums, which reveals more information on the previously announced patch for Gears of War 2.

"As I mentioned before the break we've been working on a major title update for Gears of War 2," said Rein. "This update will address bugs and exploits as well as add some new achievements related to downloadable content. We don't have an exact date for it but all indicators are it will go live within January. If that changes we'll let you know."

The London paper reckons the corporate giant is on the brink of "corporate upheaval" and expects them to start slashing numbers like mad soon.

The time for judgement is expected soon after the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas they report, with analysts foretelling of years of "multibillion-dollar losses" otherwise.
