Giant EA has been on a crusade of late as they trim stafffers from the payroll, with 1,500 jobs in their sights to go by March 31st next year.

Developer Mythic has issued a letter to fans where they "reinforce" their dedication to their games and players. Warhammer Online is safe.

Michael Denny of Sony Worldwide Studios has said they're working both motion tech into existing franchises, and creating whole new ones.

For those already out there, motion tech is "a way of enhancing" them. Internal teams treating it as "more of a platform" going forward.

Blizzard has been nice enough to give us a deadline and dangle a penguin pet in our faces, all so we'd merge our user accounts together.

Now if you want to play World of Warcraft you're going to need a Battle.net account, otherwise you can't do squat. Got your penguin?

Famitsu magazine has been digging deep into Final Fantasy XIII, and they've come up for air along with how this Crystarium thingy works.

Basically after each battle players are given Crystal Points, which can be spent across charts defining a character's "role" as you go.

Mike Neumann is Creative Director at Gearbox Software, he's also dished that they're pretty much going to make more out of the new IP.

Right now though any talk of a sequel to Borderlands is pure "water cooler talk", with the game consensus as one of "praise and love."

The latest PC update for Grand Theft Auto IV has arrived and with it have come achievements for the first DLC episode released.

The Lost and Damned is now believed to be free of obligation to Xbox 360, and can at least extend to PC versions. PS3 unlikely, but possible.

Publisher Ubi has submitted a trademark filing for Shadowbane, but it's not for MMO purposes but just a normal game it seems.

Shadowbane closed its servers this year after six years running. Ubi is staying quiet on the matter, but it looks like something's coming.

Valve: "We're talking about what to do next with the Left 4 Dead franchise"

In an interview with Strategy Informer, Left 4 Dead 2's writer, Chet Faliszek confirmed that Valve aren't done with the Left 4 Dead franchise yet, and that the firm is already talking about what it'll do next.

"I definitely want to live in the world of Left 4 Dead for a while yet. We're not done. I think people will see that we have some bigger things than they first realised and so what that means for gamers, we'll see. We’re at the point now where we're talking about what we're going to be doing next." said Faliskzek.

Publisher EA and developer DICE are keeping the pressure on Activision and Infinity Ward, preying on the dedicated server blood in the water.

Frank Gibeau and John Riccitiello both hail it as a major impending rival to Call of Duty. DICE say it's PC version is getting "a little bit more".

Konami have big plans and "very high hopes" for Saw the videogame, they want it seen as "a vital part of the Saw saga," like the films are.

Actor Tobin Bell, who stars in the movies, "adds a level of authenticity" along with the deadly and "suitably grisly" puzzles. It's out Nov. 20th.

BBC reporter Marc Cieslak has commented he's not shocked by the level, just "a little bit saddened." Thinks it's quite a childish inclusion.

Thought the games industry "had moved beyond" controversy for controversy's sake. The whole thing wasn't necessary to have in there.

While LucasArts were busy resurrecting Monkey Island with the Special Edition, which released this summer, a dev found some gems.

Designer Adam Bormann was riffling through old SCUMM code and come across loads of old stuff, just "commented out" and not removed.

Ubisoft are turning up the racy affairs with Assassin's Creed 2, offering if you will some hot coffee of its own. Gamers can play a mini-game.

This mini-game is one of "seduction" according to ESRB ratings, which includes buttons for kissing and dress removal - you scamp Ezio.

Publishing sources close to MCV have confirmed that Microsoft's Project Natal will launch in November 2010, and should could cost under £50 too.

These details come from a behind-closed-doors Microsoft tour of UK publishers and studios, with detailed information on launch plans and the tech being shown to grant more development support.

Yoichi Wada of Square Enix has revealed the Japanese master of Final Fantasy XIII is complete, with the western version nearly there.

Wada-san notes the last stages have gone "very smoothly this time." It also took a "tremendous amount of time" to develop this gen.

Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has said Spec Ops is "a great mode" and could be "expanded if we want." They're mulling it over, on break for now.
