Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One confirmed with 3D support

Thanks to an SXSW Interactive event, co-op platform action title Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One from Insomniac is confirmed to be full of extra 3D goodness.

In All 4 One players work in pairs with Ratchet & Clank, or Captain Quark and Dr. Nefarious to blast, leap and collect bolts. It's due out later this year.

Hothead Games has tweeted that Swarm, their Lemmings-like action game, will be coming to PlayStation Network on March 22, and Xbox Live Arcade on March 23: It's 3/22 PSN, 3/23 XBLA. Kept it short and simple to fit in 140 chars. :)

Sony may be slashing the price of the PlayStation 3, not long after it cut the price of the PlayStation Portable. The current UK prices of the console are £250 for the 160GB model, and £285 for the 320GB model.

Gamers who have purchased Electronic Arts games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect know the annoyance of having to log into your account online to access the content you purchased digitally, but this probably takes the biscuit: a gamer whose account was suspended for "profanity", for accusing Bioware "Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?".

While seemingly mild enough, what happened next was that he lost access to his digitally purchased version of Dragon Age II.

Capy's Nathan Vella has informed Joystiq that Might & Magic; Clash of Heroes, which is Puzzle Quest with a Might & Magic theme, will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network sometime in mid-April. The game was a hit on the Nintendo DS in 2009.

NPD: U.S. Videogames Retail Industry up 3%

Some stats for you to mull over as you have your lunch, the NPD group is reporting that US retail sales for all things videogames are up 3%.

Total new retail sales of hardware, software and accessories across consoles, portables and the PC were up to $1.36 billion for the month.

Xbox 360 about to outsell Nintendo's Wii in US

A report from industry analyst Doug Creutz confirms that the Xbox 360 is about to outsell Nintendo's Wii in the US on a trailing twelve month (TTM) basis.

Since the start of the current console cycle, this would be the first time that the Xbox 360 has been able to outsell the Wii during March 2010 to March 2011.

Sidequest Studios working on Rainbow Moon for PSN

Sidequest Studios and Eastasiasoft has announced that it's developing a new fantasy based strategy RPG for the PlayStation Network called Rainbow Moon.

Eastasiasoft says that the story mode will give you about 25 hours of gameplay, but if you take sidequests and character development into consideration then the game could offer up to 100 hours of gameplay.

Dragon Age II composer says "EA pushed hard to release DA2, my score was rushed"

Dragon Age II composer Inon Zur has admitted that his score for the game was rushed because EA wanted to "capitalize on the success of Origins".

"I know there are a few bugs that still need to be fixed. Unlike other titles from Bioware, this (score) was kind of a rush job. EA really wanted to capitalize on the success of Origins, so the game was really being pushed hard to be released now. So I’d like to know if there are bugs, or if there’s anything we could patch or fix." said Zur in an interview with IGN.

PS3 embargo lifted in Europe

The PlayStation 3 embargo in Europe has been lifted, after LG demanded that all Blu-Ray devices was an infringement of their patents and filed an injunction with the courts. The injunction was not extended, as expected, and PlayStation 3's may flow once again - though only Sweden had actually embargoed any PS3's.

Geohot exploit removed in 3.60 firmware update

The latest 3.60 firmware update is to nominally debut cloud saves for the PlayStation 3, but some hackers have noticed that it also includes a fix to "resecure" the system from the infamous Geohot rootkey hack.

Those hackers who used an exploit to gain ill-gotten Microsoft Points may find themselves in trouble. The Points that haven't been used yet will be rendered illegitimate while those who already used the codes could be punished.

The Xbox 360 enjoyed the best sales it has ever had in a month not named November or December, selling over 535,000 this past February. Microsoft attributes it to the popularity of Kinect.

Saints Row: The Third certainly ups the ante when it comes to wildness, as one of the weapons you may wield is a Sex Toy Bat, a "floppy phallus" that "has a mind of its own", "wobbling around in a disturbing display of physics," which will allow you to beat people to a bloody pulp with.

Funcom has yet to commit to a pricing model for their Lovecraftian MMO The Secret World, and is strongly suggesting they may have several payment options, as creative director Ragnar Tornquist told Eurogamer at GDC that they were "not going to be locked into one model specifically".

Microsoft has announced an optional testing program called Xbox Live Labs, which is software designed to study and analyze Xbox Live connectivity. The service is basically a tool Microsoft is using to improve Live. While running Xbox Live Labs, players will not be able to engage in any online activity themselves, such as online gaming, watching movies or downloading music.
