SEGA tease new trailer for Sonic Facebook, Sonic Generations?

This Friday a new trailer will hit the blue hedgehog's Facebook page and it times nicely with the recently unearthed domain registrations for 'Sonic Generations'.

The trailer will appear at 2.00pm GMT, 10.00am EST and 6.00 PST. We've been without a major new Sonic instalment for this console generation for a while now.

THQ reveals UFC Personal Trainer for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

THQ today confirmed that it's developing UFC Personal Trainer: The Ultimate Fitness System for Xbox 360's Kinect and PlayStation 3's Move.

Designed by the National Academy of Sports Medicine with support from martial arts (MMA) training experts Mark DellaGrotte, Greg Jackson and Javier Mendez, who have worked with renowned UFC fighters such as current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, current UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir.

Riccitiello: Battlefield 3 ads "a couple hundred million dollars"

Speaking at an Ad Age Conference keynote presentation, EA CEO John Riccitiello reckons that Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty will be duking it out with big ad budgets.

They'll be topping $100m or so each he believes, and Riccitiello affirmed Battlefield 3 was "designed" to take Call of Duty down. EA can 'serve' 233m unique users.

Report: Ubisoft says Child of Eden will support PlayStation Move

Sony's PlayStation Move will be friendly with Child of Eden after all despite the eerie silence that fell over the two, or at least that's according to what one Ubi rep said.

They didn't reveal exactly how they'll work together only that they would. So far Child of Eden has been showing off its love for Kinect. PS Move won't be neglected.

Report: Microsoft updating beta testers with Dashboard preview

The latest Dashboard preview program has begun to roll out to those accepted in the opt-in program, but apparently not much is different according to reports.

The only immediate change is the addition of an 'Xbox beta' channel with three items. There are two groups among testers divided by the update method used.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River delay

Codemasters has delayed the US release of Operation Flashpoint: Red River from April 26th as it will now hit the stores instead on June 7th for all versions.

Europe will still see its planned April 24th release though. It's quite a nasty month-long gap between European and North American fans of the shooter series.

New Valve IP from concept art?

Almost 30 snaps of Valve concept artwork have escaped the Half-Life developer, and they're all very sci-fi in theme. A recent PC Gamer visit nabbed the images.

They don't appear linked to any established IP. They range from character concepts to ideas for spaceships, or at least very advanced fighters. What's Valve up to?

Live-action Mortal Kombat April 12th, first episode before game

The planned web-based live action series for Mortal Kombat premiers April 12th at 4pm PST, or April 13th at midnight GMT. It'll air to fans through YouTube.

It arrives before the new Warner Bros game of Mortal Kombat from NetherRealm, which releases April 19th. The actors will "show off their gaming skill".

Artwork for Rare's Kameo: Elements of Power sequel is online

Former artist Sergey Rakhmanov for studio Rare has posted up concept pieces for a more visually realistic Kameo game, a big departure from the original.

They're dated 2008 and the original Kameo launched in '05 for Xbox 360. It's believed Rare dumped the fledgling series in favour of Kinect development.

EU PlayStation Store adds new sections, demos now "top level"

This week's European update for the PlayStation Store has new wares and a facelift with Sony adding some new Store sections and rearranging others.

Demos, as well as Themes and Avatars have become "top level" categories. There's a Charts section for the top 10 of stuff too. PS Plus area "more organised".

Three former Bizarre Creations big wigs have talked about the studio's final days, with one adding the "mistake we made" was underestimating new IP difficulty.

They "messed up" Blur's launch with delays giving them a "less-favourable release date." Their new games became "the products of committees and analysts."

Armored Core V levels top an hour

Thanks to Japanese magazine Famitsu we now know that Armored Core V has some long-haul missions for us in the game's singleplayer campaign.

Levels can range from 20 minutes to an hour, and there's 70 additional "order missions" to keep things action-packed. Armored Core V is due early 2012.

Hacker group 'Anonymous' vow long campaign against Sony

So far the 'Anonymous' hacker group has been "poking and prodding" Sony they say, and that it's all "merely preparation" for what they've got in mind to unleash.

They admit consumers are "collateral damage" in their attacks, and even argue PS3 users should "take the time to understand us." Funny place the Internet.

Minecraft has already earned 23M Euro

Minecraft has already become a best-seller, and the avant-garde MMO is still only in beta. Markus "Notch" Persson has revealed that he's sold 1,813,527 copies of Minecraft (800K during alpha, 1M during beta), which has brought in €23M to date ($33M in USD).

Treyarch defends DLC pricing

Treyarch is defending the 1200 MSP ($14.99 USD) price point of the Call of Duty franchise's downloadable content that has been the norm since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Community manager Josh Olin claims that people "see value" in them.

In an interview with OXM, Olin was asked if people had simply gotten used to paying premium prices for downloadable content, after fans had cried foul when the first expensive DLC had dropped for Modern Warfare 2 years ago.

Publisher 505 Games and developer Rebellion today announced Sniper Elite V2, a sequel to Sniper Elite, will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.

Sniper Elite V2 will be a modern take on Sniper Elite for the current generation of consoles.
