Telltale's Wallace & Gromit delays no more for XBLA, gets firm date

While the first episode of Telltale Games' Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures did make in onto Xbox Live Arcade, the others so far haven't, with Microsoft retracting release dates.

Now that's all changed because come November 4th, all 3 remaining episodes of the 4 part season will hit XBLA. 'The Last Resort,' 'Muzzled!' and 'The Bogey Man' to go for 800 MSP.

GTA IV "free to play" online this weekend, "special guests" attend

Developer Rockstar Games is celebrating the launch of The Ballad of Gay Tony, the latest DLC episode for GTA IV, by declaring this weekend free of Xbox Live multiplayer charges.

This covers GTA IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Also there'll be "special guests from Rockstar" online playing, with Henry Santos Jeter from "megaband" Aventura.

Petition springs up for PC Space Marine, Relic tease gamer impact

Developer Relic Entertainment has said they're "always looking at feedback" from the community, and tease that a continued "strong desire" for PC could yield something.

An online petition is currently floating on the Internet, and it hopes to convince team Relic to bring their upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Marine action/RPG to PC as well as console.

Interplay gains ground against Bethesda, teases with concept art

The whole legal fisticuffs between Interplay and Bethesda seem to have had some development somewhere, with Interplay posting concepts of the secretive Project V13.

Chris Taylor confirms the artworks, saying they give a feel "for what we are aiming for with V13," the alleged Fallout MMO project. He's "bugging the lawyers" to get more concepts up.

Alien Breed releases in the form of three downloadable episodes

Speaking at the Eurogamer Expo in Leeds yesterday, Team17's John Dennis has revealed that Alien Breed for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be released in the form of three downloadable episodes.

"In each episode there's a prologue level, then there are five single-player levels and they're really large... Much larger than they should have been," said Dennis.

Insomniac's James Stevenson says Sony Japan is taking user feedback onboard from the US and EU now, around "two years ago" that didn't feel the case. PSN is listening more.

Meanwhile is seems that PlayStation Home is no longer the prodigal project it once was, as boss Pete Edwards reveals its "not a priority right now" at the London Games Conference.

Sky Player pulled because of "phenomenal demand" say Microsoft

So many users attempted to sign up and use the Sky Player service that the system just buckled under the strain alleges Microsoft, so they temporarily pulled it off Xbox Live.

Now Sky Player is to be rolled out "in phases" to make sure users can sign up okay and then get to view streamed "high-quality" content. Microsoft "apologise to all" for the screw-up.

Disney's Epic Mickey was for next-gen and PC, Spector wanted Wii

The announcement of Epic Mickey would have been for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC but designer Warren Spector advised Disney to "focus on one platform," so they all got ditched for Wii.

Spector said they "can't just port" to the Wii, it needs to be "its own game." A Wii exclusive question was posed by Disney Interactive boss Graham Hopper, which was a "magic moment".

Final Fantasy XIII ad casting call shows Square revealing US date

A search for a script reader by the Liz Paulson Casting ad agency in Los Angeles has shown Square Enix's plans to reveal the US release date for Final Fantasy XIII in an ad.

It will offer an "exclusive never before seen look" of Square's latest before 'panning back' to unveil the US retail date, currently just spring 2010. It releases in Japan on December 17th.

Sony talk WipEout HD's 2.10 patch, tackles "front-end" and issues

The incoming 2.10 update for Wipeout HD Fury addresses some gameplay issues, a little of the "front-end functionality" and deals with pesky adverts increasing level load times.

WipEout and in-game ads have gone "hand-in-hand" since '96 say Sony, with "many brands and products" associating over the years. All the ads are embedded "sympathetically".

Sony will announce GOW 3 UK demo plans in due course

The US will get access to the God of War 3 demo when they purchase the Blu-ray release of District 9, but what about the UK? Well Sony has told us that this is for the US only, but it will announce plans for the GOW 3 demo in the UK soon.

"That's for the US only. We'll announce our plans for the GOW 3 demo in due course." said a spokesperson.

Developer Introversion reveals the long awaited arrival of Darwinia+ is "next side of Christmas", despite the studio begging Microsoft to ditch it in favour of Multiwinia.

Early multiplayer prototypes of Darwinia+ were trying to "satisfy Microsoft," which Chris Delay says is "the most awful motivation" ever to make a game. Darwinia+ is a redesign of the original.

The included game manual with GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, which bundles both The Lost and Damned with The Ballad of Gay Tony, has a huge whooping tease on page 13.

It shows a heart shaped design of Grand Theft Auto IV's box art broken in two. "Liberty City, It's Over!" it declares, with "Next Stop" cut short by a 'tear' in the poster. It looks rural-ish.

Publisher Activision has come out in defence of the leaked game scene, where players can take part in the massacre of civilians, as part of the "deep and gripping" narrative.

Players face a terrorist threat bringing the world "to the brink of collapse," and that scene was designed to "evoke the atrocities". Gamers are warned of the scene, and offered to skip it.

Vavle 's Left 4 Dead 2 is releasing on Xbox 360 and PC, with pre-order demos now live for impatient fans. These same fans have been peeking into the demo uncompressed.

They've discovered hidden away in text files that Left 4 Dead 2 seems to support rewards for Avatars on Xbox 360, and it's revealed how some are awarded. Valve is yet to comment.

Deadline extended for WWE license renewal, THQ intends to sign

The big bust up between publisher THQ and Jakks Pacific has caused some pain for World Wrestling Entertainment, but the license renewal is expected to proceed soon enough.

Analyst Michael Pachter points out that both THQ and WWE want Jakks Pacific out of the way, as both no longer enjoy a relationship with them. Beyond the renewal, THQ "cannot comment."

The Whispered World launches in UK on February 12th, 2010

Deep Silver and Daedalic today announced that The Whispered World will be released in the UK and Europe on February 12th, 2010.

In classic point and click tradition, gamers steer Sadwick and his companion Spot through the game. Little Spot never leaves Sadwick's side and is integral to solving many puzzles. He can take on many different forms throughout the game, which the player can pick and choose at will, once they have been learned. Hand-painted backgrounds filled with animated details and lovingly crafted characters in the style of classic animated movies like "Spirited Away" bring the story to life. "The Whispered World" mixes fairy-tale elements with melancholic tones to create a tale of epic proportions.

District 9 Blu-ray contains God of War III Demo

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the upcoming Blu-ray release of District 9, which is to be released on 29th December, will feature a demo for God of War III.

Better still, when you complete the demo you'll unlock an exclusive God of War III making-of Featurette.

Ubisoft updates console versions of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Ubisoft has announced that patches for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood are now available. These patches will improve the quality of multiplayer connections and matches, and refine the overall balance of multiplayer classes and modes.

Specifically for PS3, the patch will significantly reduce checkpoint loading times. The Spy, Gunslinger, Hombre, Veteran and Sniper classes have been balanced to offer the best experiences possible.

Splash Damage: "Publisher budgets cannot justify triple-A PC exclusives"

Splash Damage boss Paul Wedgwood was at the EG Expo in Leeds and has been talking about the PC market. He says that PC exclusive projects aren't able to attract enough money from publishers to create triple-A games.

"About two or three years ago we realised that we really wouldn’t survive if we only made PC games, since purely making PC games was incompatible with our goal of making triple-A games," said Wedgwood while demoing Brink at the EG Expo in Leeds.
