The incoming 2.10 update for Wipeout HD Fury addresses some gameplay issues, a little of the "front-end functionality" and deals with pesky adverts increasing level load times.
WipEout and in-game ads have gone "hand-in-hand" since '96 say Sony, with "many brands and products" associating over the years. All the ads are embedded "sympathetically".

The included game manual with GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, which bundles both The Lost and Damned with The Ballad of Gay Tony, has a huge whooping tease on page 13.
It shows a heart shaped design of Grand Theft Auto IV's box art broken in two. "Liberty City, It's Over!" it declares, with "Next Stop" cut short by a 'tear' in the poster. It looks rural-ish.

Deep Silver and Daedalic today announced that The Whispered World will be released in the UK and Europe on February 12th, 2010.
In classic point and click tradition, gamers steer Sadwick and his companion Spot through the game. Little Spot never leaves Sadwick's side and is integral to solving many puzzles. He can take on many different forms throughout the game, which the player can pick and choose at will, once they have been learned. Hand-painted backgrounds filled with animated details and lovingly crafted characters in the style of classic animated movies like "Spirited Away" bring the story to life. "The Whispered World" mixes fairy-tale elements with melancholic tones to create a tale of epic proportions.

Splash Damage boss Paul Wedgwood was at the EG Expo in Leeds and has been talking about the PC market. He says that PC exclusive projects aren't able to attract enough money from publishers to create triple-A games.
"About two or three years ago we realised that we really wouldn’t survive if we only made PC games, since purely making PC games was incompatible with our goal of making triple-A games," said Wedgwood while demoing Brink at the EG Expo in Leeds.

Publisher Ubisoft has said how they see content delivery as far more important than the actual device of delivery itself, i.e. the platforms. Their first live action mini-movie debuts.
Assassin's Creed: Lineage, a 14-minute flick, "showcases" how they can deliver content "in interesting ways" to fans. Ubi not "moving directly" into film; an example of "convergence".

A rather nasty bug has been found in Borderlands, and not the colourful type you smoosh with guns or fists in-game. This bug is linked to all three platforms when going online.
It can cause, though it's frequency is "very low", all character skills to be wiped clean. Developer Gearbox hope to "repair as much" character data loss as possible, when fixed.

In the past this pairing has given us 'Beneath a Steel Sky' and recently it has been reworked for the iPhone, a platform that Cecil advises "really brave" wannabe developers to go for.
