Developer Fumito Ueda has said how he believed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus were meant solely for the PlayStation 2 and that they "should stay there". Now he's interested in PS3.

The upcoming God of War Collection, bringing the original two titles to PS3, looks to be a fan favourite. Ueda-san says it "would be nice" to get them to "reach more users." For PS3 then?

Harmonix unleash Rock Band 2 update, adds in an 'Audition Mode'

Currently the new title update is only available for Xbox 360 because the PS3 version is still going through tests with PlayStation Network. The patch addresses "common requests".

Most notably it adds the 'Rock Band Network Audition Mode', which lets users try out their uploaded songs from the PC. In "coming weeks" the Rock Band Network starts an open beta.

With the release of Project Natal expected late next year, Microsoft and its partners have time to show off what that tech can do. The Tokyo Game Show has done a little of this.

Unfortunately for gamers hoping to have some of their back catalogue of games brought up to code for Natal, you'll likely be disappointed. It's not a simple title update, but huge code revisions.

Sony "plan to expand" PlanetSide MMO universe, teases sequel

An early MMO, PlanetSide was a massively online shooter where factions vied for control of facilities and ultimately entire islands. Now Sony Online Entertainment plans a sequel.

They're looking for fans to provide a "critical role" by taking part in a survey, which will help developers with the "direction of the next hit". The original PlanetSide "isn't going anywhere."

'Smasher Pack' DLC unveils for Red Faction: Guerrilla, out Oct. 1st

THQ has revealed the third piece of DLC for Volition's Red Faction: Guerrilla, and they call it 'Smasher Pack' with it arriving for Xbox 360 and PS3 for 400 Microsoft Points/$4.99.

It will become available over Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on October 1st. It adds eight new multiplayer maps and a 'Behemoth' mode, which swaps weapons for heavy walkers.

Rumour-mill: Alpha Protocol delays, retailers point to summer 2010

Sega and Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming spy action-RPG Alpha Protocol appears to be heading for a major delay, at least if online retailers can be believed.

The game is currently down for late October however US retailer Gamestop now say June 1st next year, with Amazon Canada concurring a next summer date with June 27th.

Street Fighter sequel announcement tomorrow, goes live 17:00 JST

Capcom have published a teaser site for their upcoming sequel announcement for Street Fighter, and it's marked September 29th with a time stamp of 17:00 JST.

The teaser right now is just a short flash movie showing some black and white swirls with two fighters, similar to the style of IV's cinematics. The address of the site has 'newwarrior' in it.

The Crash Time series isn't a big contender on the Xbox 360, as its popularity in fact doesn't travel much beyond Germany. However that hasn't stopped another sequel.

Crash Time III will be burning rubber and crashing some on the tracks when it arrives for Xbox 360. Until then some screenshots of the racing action have been splashed around.

During the Sony conference at the Tokyo Game Show they demoed LittleBigPlanet with their spring slated motion controller tech for PlayStation 3. Well now the Internet has footage.

A woman uses the motion stick controller while a guy uses a standard pad. It's of course in Japanese but pictures, especially moving ones, are worth a thousand bilingual words.

Left 4 Dead 2's classification refusal and ban "appealed" by Valve

Developer Valve isn't too happy that Australia's ratings board has refused to stick an MA15+ rating on Left 4 Dead 2, their highest possible classification. It means the game is banned.

Valve is launching an appeal process. Left 4 Dead 2 has been rated " in the majority of the world" with only the UK and New Zealand to reach a certificate. Britain is likely to slap it '18'.

Complaints of Halo 3: ODST disc read errors, Bungie investigating

Sadly things aren't going so smoothly it would seem for Halo 3: ODST's launch as some users are complaining of disc read errors, with developer Bungie looking into the issue.

Older consoles seem to be more susceptible, but Elites have been hit too. Installing the game to the hard drive can fix the issue perhaps? The multiplayer for ODST appears unaffected.

Square Enix teams with PopCap on Gyromancer, for XBLA and PC

A new puzzle-RPG will be making its way to Xbox Live Arcade and on PC through Steam thanks to Square Enix and PopCap teaming up. No release date has been spilled.

It involves three characters who head off to an enchanted forest for various reasons. Gyromancer involves 10 game stages, with beasts and minted coins about the place.

EU PlayStation Store update, Fallout 3 DLC has arrived with Batman

This week's European PlayStation Store has been spruced with new baubles and other shiny things. It includes the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3; levels up and ending gone.

Also new Batman: Arkham Asylum goodness arrives with Prey In The Darkness, which is completely free. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 gets a demo, and so does Lost Planet 2 - PSN only.

Epic Games' Mike Capps, the big boss, broke many a heart when he declared the next Gears of War instalment won't be arriving until the next lot of consoles did.

Luckily he's admitted that was inaccurate to say. Capps has clarified that if a new Gears of War was to arrive in the next "four to five years" it would be on current gen consoles. Panic over.

Lionhead a "real innovation" team for Microsoft, Natal likely in Fable

Phil Spencer, VP of Microsoft Game Studios, has said that Lionhead Studios' Fable will most likely be getting Natal involved in its "future iterations" somewhere.

Fable 2 starts its episodic release soon, whereby the full game has been broken up into smaller pieces. Fable 3 has been revealed and talked on more by boss Peter Molyneux at TGS.

Microsoft has dropped imposed limitations for game titles and content on Xbox Live Arcade, which means files can now reach 2GB in size; technical limitations prevent higher.

Games on Demand is a different section to XBLA and so doesn't use the same file structure, so limitations don't exist for it reveals Microsoft's digital games director Scott Austin.

The Xbox 360 action game Ninja Blade, a title not shy of extreme violence and throwing as much craziness at the player as possible, will be coming to desktops in October.

Russian publisher ND Games announces they'll bring developer From Software's Ninja Blade over from console lands. It's got consequence-less quick-time events for screw-ups.

PlayStation 3 consoles packing 250GB in storage space have been confirmed for sale in the UK, and they'll arrive in bundles with the first to be retailing the beginning of October.

For 284.99 GBP you can get a PS3 with a choice of two Platinum titles or Sucker Punch's inFamous. October 16th will have a bundle including Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Custom sounds now 'importable' to PS3 for UT3 mods reveals Epic

Epic Games and Sony have worked to allow custom sounds to be included in mods for Unreal Tournament 3 on the PlayStation 3. The "latest and greatest" mods can hit console.

Total conversions mods, ones that use "entirely original assets," are now possible on the PS3. Developer Epic say the instructions "are really simple" to follow for the mod community.
