The super network of Halo goes live November 5th when Microsoft flicks the 'on 'switch for Halo Waypoint, said to be the premier destination for fans of the Bungie creation.

It will be run by Microsoft and will contain all statistical data and rankings for Halo games, as well as provide exclusive new media, like anime shorts, podcasts, videos etc. Semper fi!

New "original game" from LucasArts is Lucidity, puzzle side-scroller

As was revealed by the GTTV episode, LucasArts had been keeping from us the official confirmation that Lucidity was indeed real. It's coming to Xbox 360 and PC digitally.

In this 2D side-scrolling puzzle fest you'll be helping Sophie get through levels, but you won't be directly in control of her. Instead you'll be manipulating the environment to aid her passage.

Black Legion failed but "thematically darker" action-RPG is coming

Ex-Titan Quest developers who survived the collapse of Iron Lore went on to form Crate Entertainment, and they bought the rights to console RPG Black Legion.

It wasn't picked up by a publisher though, but Crate developers weren't going to give up. Instead they moved on to begin work on a PC action-RPG with "thematically darker" themes.

Alex Cutting, Halo 3: ODST producer at Microsoft Game Studios, has affirmed to fans that they won't be slapping in Natal as some "gimmicky feature" just to take advantage.

If there's "an opportunity to do it" then they will "definitely investigate" how it could work. Cutting reiterates they'll make games "we want to play," they don't want something that's "not fun."

Stewart Gilray of developer Just Add Water has twittered news that his studio is working on something besides PSN game Gravity Crash. Actually, they're working on three other things.

JAW is "extremely happy" to be developing these projects but they're "completely under wraps" for the time being. Nostalgic "eighties and nineties" lovers will "be happy" they say.

EEDAR: No "significant sales lift" for Xbox 360 despite price drop

While Microsoft may have price snipped the Xbox 360 Elite down to USD 299, it won't carry a significant impact to sales "over last year's performance" says analyst firm EEDAR.

Instead they offer the consolation that consistent sales show USD 299 is the "sweet spot" for the next-gen consoles. Microsoft will "most likely reposition" the Elite to USD 249 within a year.

Microsoft's Chris Lewis is bubbling with enthusiasm for Xbox Live, and the EU exec says they have a "great journey" through to Xmas, noting exclusives and cross-platforms.

To the latter he adds they will "just work better on Xbox Live." Lewis also boasts that Microsoft enjoys "more content partnerships" for Xbox Live as well. Tis always the season to gloat.

Guitar Hero 5 has late Nirvana man Kurt Cobain banging out tunes, and this has Courtney Love incensed, big time. In fact they're "going to sue the shit out of ACtivision" for it.

Love twittered that this "Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract" and she and others who control the Cobain Estate are furious. Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic say he "deserves better."

Developer Cryptic Studios took the superhero MMO off for a couple of hours to fire up their jumbo patch. It addresses "hot issues" and gives a free retcon to users if they want it.

A pretty big list of other tweaks have been named on the MMO site, from the mundane to the more practical - "flickering point light shadows" beats "opacity transition time" I think. Agree?

Warner Bros form DC Entertainment, "fully recognizes" DC Comics

So in love with DC Comics, its characters and mega fan base is Warner Brothers that they've decided to form a dedicated team to deal with films, TV, games and more.

DC Entertainment is tasked with thrusting everything DC into the future, to "maximize every opportunity" to bring its worlds and characters "to life." This follows Disney's buyout of Marvel.

Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory will have its latest project spilled on soon, with mag Game Informer teasing they're the "only place you'll hear about it" next issue.

The game is called Enslaved and it's "going multiplatform", which was no big secret. That it's a "post-apocalyptic journey" will likely divide interest, what with all this apocalyptic-ness.

Movie giant Universal Pictures has withdrawn their expansive plans for the videogames market after the GRIN-developed, and Warner Bros published Wanted fared poorly.

It sold only 100,000 copies its release month, and missed the marketing clout of the film and DVD, starring Angelina Jolie. Pete Wanat has departed Universal, their gaming guru.

Square Enix has Nier Replicant tease in Famitsu, spills next week

Japanese mag Famitsu has run a two-page advert for Square's upcoming action game Nier Replicant, with the tagline: "Beyond revenge lies crazed desperation."

It's a project that publisher Square wants to be a "hit in the West", which meant Japanese release plans were on hold. That is until now, as Nier Gestalt is official. More comes next week.

Red Baron rights back with creator, Mad Otter offering big bounty

Damon Slye's creation is back with him, Red Baron rights have return to his grasp and that of developer Mad Otter Games. A $1500 bounty is on offer for source code.

The original three games are sought by the 'new' rights holders and they'll pay handsomely for it, that "does *not* mean assembly" but C/C++ scribblings. Mad Otter wants to revive it!

LucasArts to unveil "brand-new original game" this Friday on GTTV

A whole new property is to be made naked before the world tomorrow on GameTrailers TV twittered Geoff Keighley, and it's from LucasArts, who also echoed that twittering.

The episode of GTTV airs live on Spike TV at 12:30 am tomorrow, so it may be a little early for some gamers. No idea what this might be considering how "original game" can be taken.

RedSpotGames has announced a new Dreamcast game, not a hoax

Developer RedSpotGames has come out with news that Dreamcast can expect a new title this October when they release Rush Rush Rally Racing through online retailers.

The racing game uses a retro style in a Micro Machines kind of way, with the studio releasing a trailer for Dreamcast fans. This is in celebration of the Sega consoles 10th anniversary.

With the launch of the PS3 Slim came a 1000 percent boost to PlayStation 3 sales, and now apparently a newer bundle model is already planned with a 250GB hard drive.

This new PS3 Slim is expected to be retailing this October and comes with a copy of FIFA 10, and will be exclusive to the retailer GAME costing around EUR 350. It's all rumour for now.

Halo has done incredible things for the Xbox platform and Microsoft are grateful for that, and can't bottle up their feelings toward their "awesome partner" any longer it seems.

The corporate giant praises the studio for their "time polishing gameplay", that while it may be a year from retail "the game's playable." Their artists are "unequalled", triple A "up and down".

When the latest digital expansion for LOTRO arrives with Siege of Mirkwood, the MMO will be updated with a new Skirmish mode that Turbine hopes will keep replay burning.

Essentially the Skirmish mode has you and friends complete story-led objectives, with randomised secondary tasks for that fresh feeling. Each player has their own NPC soldier.
