SouthPeak Games announced this afternoon that it will be releasing X-Blades, a third-person hack-and-slash action title for Next-gen consoles and PC, in Late 2008. In the game, players control an enchanting anime-style heroine that destroys anything in her path using guns, blades, magic, and a healthy dose of cinematic flair. | |

As part of SCi's plan to restructure they're setting their employee count to 800 and the board has decided to axe 14 projects, citing they wouldn't get an adequate return on their investment or achieve a sufficient quality.
Instead they'll focus on their core franchises, Tomb Raider, Hitman, Championship Manager and Deus Ex. | |

Eidos Interactive today confirmed that Battlestations: Pacific, the sequel to Battlestations: Midway, will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC, although no release date was announced for it. | |

At "Lunch with the Luminaries" Chris Taylor, creator of Supreme Commander, declared that PC gaming as we know it today is dead. He cited online piracy as contributing factor saying many games titles now look to consoles as means of securing themselves against illegal downloading, secure gaming is the future he says.
But Internet scaly-wags aside, ex-Sony executive Phil Harrison claims there’s already a generation of kids globally that will never buy physical media. He believes business models will have to evolve and stop physical disc media as the primary means of delivery. | |
