Delays aside, EA unveils a Warhammer Online Collector's Edition

During a press conference in Paris this morning, Electronic Arts have revealed a special Collector's Edition for the upcoming Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning MMORPG. The pack will include miniature models of warboss Grumlock and shaman Gazbag.

A 128-paged hardback novel, a 224-paged art book and in-game content bonuses too, pre-ordering nets even more goodies.

Shares for Ubisoft jump 12%, publisher excited at movie prospects

After the company’s announcement that they've bought the rights to the Tom Clancy name on books, movies and games investors see a 5.91 EURO rise in shares. This is the biggest rise for Ubisoft in two months bringing the total value at around 54.98 EUROS.

They had previously declined 29% this year before yesterday’s revival for the publisher, who's also tingly all over now for a film.

Producer Jeff Hickman has announced this morning that their MMORPG of Warhammer will be pushed back to an autumn release. It was originally slated for a Q1 release this year, which soon changed to Q2 as the studio wanted more time to polish the game.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is for the PC and is being developed by EA Mythic.

NCSoft signs deal with Epic, two new MMOs with Unreal Engine 3

NCSoft's Lineage II uses Epic's previous prodigy the Unreal Engine 2 so they're no strangers when it comes to licensing. Now they've gone and formed a two-game deal with Epic, they'll be using the latest engine to development a couple of new and unannounced MMOs.

UE3 is used in Epic's own Gears of War and UT3, they predict their next instalment of the engine will be near exclusive to the next generation of consoles.

The ERSB website is the industries ratings board in the U.S. and their listings tend to 'leak' news of certain games launching from time to time. Darwinia is marked as having an 'E' rating meaning for everyone and is carrying an Xbox360 listing.

Introversion Software's Darwinia was widely acclaimed when it was launched on PC, offering a truly unique spin and atmosphere to RTS and puzzle gameplay.

Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft big-wig, has revealed their devilish plans to give a Tom Clancy MMO the thumbs up now that they control the IP, and are free from royalty woes.

So what could a Clancy MMO cost the publisher I hear you wonder? Guillemot doesn't seem put off when he estimates figures between $40 and $50 million now that they can see "full return."

'Dead Space' prequel coming to TV and DVD, post-comic pre-game

EA have been in talks with Starz Media, a film company commissioned to bring the animated film to the world through television and disc. Dead Space is a horror survival game, a team aboard mining vessel USG Ishimura pulls an artefact from a dig site and boom - alien menace!

The film is set to premier on October 31, the day EA's Dead Space game launches on next-gen consoles and PC.

Fallout 3 will have 12 different endings? Nope, new count says 200

Some RPGs really like to pride themselves at letting the player shape the world or at the very least the kingdom around them. Fallout 3 is no exception with a possible 200 different endings, Bethesda is keen to admit though that some variations will be minimal.

Still it’s a technical 200 endings; other features have apparently exploded in scope too.

Ubisoft buy rights to the Tom Clancy name, no more royalty payouts

Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six all have the Clancy brand plastered all over with the publisher having to cough up each time.

However Ubisoft have come to the conclusion it would be cheaper in the long run to invest now by buying the name and watch the future profits eat the cost.

Crysis 1.21 Patch released

Crytek and EA have released the 1.21 patch for Crysis. This hotfix corrects a potential client and server crash exploit. It weighs in at 37MB and requires the 1.2 patch to be previously installed.
