Age of Conan is now officially a free-to-play MMO as Funcom flips on the changeover, and reveals it's called Age of Conan: Unchained with a trailer.
New solo instances Forgotten City and The Breach have debuted alongside the F2P launch. Funcom want old and new blood. A cash shop will be opening.

Funcom has announced this morning that the massively multiplayer online game Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures will receive a digital re-launch this summer under the new name Age of Conan: Unrated.
This re-launch will also feature a hybrid business model allowing anyone to freely roam the lands of Hyboria either as free players or premium subscribers with access to extra content.

Funcom doesn't see the Conan the Barbarian film as "saving" Age of Conan but as an "opportunity to grow and get customers back" this year.
They're "not sure we need saving," says executive producer Craig Morrison. It's already "perfectly viable" but they won't miss this chance to strut.

Funcom's Age of Conan MMO has been involved in the making of the new 'Conan the Barbarian' feature film, a reboot, as the two have shared assets.
A new adventure pack 'The Savage Coast of Turan' will be added to the game which lets fans visit Conan's old ally Artus from the movie, which debuts August.
