Developer American McGee continues to blame Electronic Arts for the failure of Alice: The Madness Returns, claiming that the marketing division painted the game as darker and edgier than the actual game was.

Alice: Madness Returns developer Spicy Horse is praising the F2P model for having sunshine flying out its hindquarters, as earnings from their F2P titles outstrip their console ventures.

Boss American McGee said trying to earn from consoles today is like "digging out from under an avalanche," where if you don't "get out" in a short amount of time "it's all over."

EA to run Origin promotions over the holidays

Valve isnít the only ones running a sale this year - EA have announced a couple of promotions that will run over the holidays on their own online store/portal - Origin.

First up - for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day only (24th and 25th of December, just FYI), you'll be able to pick up Battlefield 3 at 50% off. Unless you're German, then you only get 33% off since Santa said you'd all been bad eggs this year...

American McGee, a former id Software veteran, now runs developer Spicy Horse in China. They've switched to a purely digital platform - who needs retail?

Shops "waste resources" on physicality and have "unreliable employees" whereas online can be "more entertaining" virtually. China 'embraces' store-less retail.

Steam keys work with Origin

It seems that some Electronic Arts titles which are already on Steam can be activated on Origin.

PC Gamer has discovered that keys that work on Origins include Crysis 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2, Alice: Madness Returns and Dragon Age 2. However, the original Mass Effect does not work.
