Dead Space 3 was the king of best-selling games in the US for the month of February 2013, according to the NPD. Crysis 3 came in third but was viewed as underperforming as it couldn't beat Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in sales; the latter had been released back in November 2012.

Aliens: Colonial Marines co-developer TimeGate Studios has reportedly been hit by layoffs, with a rumored 25 staff fired.

SEGA: Reports of "small number" of save losses for Aliens: Colonial Marines

Publisher SEGA has confirmed they've received reports from gamers which show a "small number" are having trouble retaining their saved games for Gearbox Software's Aliens: Colonial Marines.

After some investigation it appears that the "optional HDD install" is the culprit. SEGA advises those who are suffering lost saves to uninstall it from the HDD and play from the disc.

Gearbox has released a series of updates for all versions of Aliens: Colonial Marines. The long-awaited game, which has struggled through the review process, has received a number of general, single-player and multiplayer improvements.

The vast majority of Aliens: Colonial Marines wasn't built by Gearbox, an ex-dev claims. Instead, it appears the title was outsourced to TimeGate Studios, who have previously worked on Section 8: Prejudice and FEAR expansions.
