Ubisoft has today official revealed Assassin's Creed 3, which will be released on 31st October for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U. Assassin’s Creed III has been in development for three years by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with six other Ubisoft studios.

Assassin’s Creed III is powered by Ubisoft-AnvilNext, a new game engine that delivers breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence.

The upcoming issue of Game Informer details Assassin's Creed 3, and details the protagonists name, some of the game mechanics, and the time period.

To say the game involves the American Revolution is a little misleading, as the game begins in 1753, which is the time of the French and Indian War, where the British warred against the French colonials and their Native American allies.

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed 3 will be set in the American Revolution.

An announcement will be sent to us on Monday to reveal the first details for the game, which will be developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

"We confirm that Ubisoft will announce all the details of Assassin’s Creed III on Monday March 5th at 5pm." said a Ubisoft spokesperson.

It seems the rumors of Assassin's Creed III taking place during the American Revolution may be accurate, since some new promotional art has been spotted with the protagonist - and he seems to be Native American.

The assassin is wearing an 18th century longcoat, under which what seems to be Native American jewelry. There's a bow and arrow strapped to his back, while he wields a Tomahawk in one hand, and an 18th century musket in the other. In the background is the classic Betsy Ross American flag.
