A new logo has been leaked from the Digital Arts division of UbiSoft, which basically produces the publisher's digital movie and cross-media projects. The logo is for something called "Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix."

Ubisoft's inclusion of the historically accurate activity of whaling in Assassin's Creed 4's timeline of the 1700's has pro-animal PETA stamping their foot and crying foul. Whaling is a blight on today's society.

However Assassin's Creed 4 isn't exploring today's society, it's diving into the past and the past had whaling - a lot of it. PETA is no stranger to targeting video games to remind us they're crazy.

Ubisoft has revealed more about the nature of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Land missions "represent approximately 60%" but when counting the 'global experience' land and sea is "about 50-50."

Unlike in Assassin's Creed III, in Black Flag the sea is an open world environment with dynamic events. It's powered by the Horizon System which feed us 'systematically evolved' opportunities.

The premiere trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has debuted, showing off some of the characters and storyline players can expect from the game.

Even more important, the trailer reveals the release date for the game, which will be released on PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Gamers can expect to play Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag on the 29th October 2013, just in time for Halloween.
