Ubisoft source reportedly confirms two new Assassin's Creed titles for 2014

In a development that will surprise absolutely nobody, the Examiner are reporting that Ubisoft are working on two new Assassin's Creed titles.

In a recent interview, Ubisoft Sofia producer Momchil Valentinov Gindyanov told the website that multiple Assassin's Creed titles were "Definitely a possibility." And now sources inside Ubisoft have confirmed that there are two titles planned, one a next-gen exclusive and the other aimed at current-gen consoles.

Freedom Cry, the story-based DLC for Ubisoft's hit pirate game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, is to be released later today for the PC, according to a statement sent to Strategy Informer from a Ubisoft source. Already released on consoles, the DLC was delayed on PC so that the developers could "apply a final layer of polish".

A last minute delay has been revealed by Ubisoft for the impending Freedom Cry DLC that features Adewale for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on PC. It now has no official date of release but arrives "in the coming days."

The extra time the studio is taking is for adding a "final layer of polish" to meet expectations. The announcement of the delay was found only on the Ubisoft forums.

Ubisoft has announced that former pirate and now trained Assassin Adewale will be upsetting the colonial powers that be in DLC Freedom Cry tomorrow, December 17th. It takes place 15 years after Black Flag.

The Assassin's Creed IV add-on content also comes to Xbox 360 and Xbox One tomorrow, with PS3 and PS4 December 18th. A launch trailer for Freedom Cry has been posted.

Call of Duty: Ghosts 3rd week atop UK chart, FIFA 14 falls short by 600 sales

FIFA 14 almost had the UK chart crown last week but was 600 sales short of toppling Call of Duty: Ghosts which is enjoying its 3rd consecutive week on the throne, and its 5th since launch.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes rockets to 3rd place thanks to promotions, with Battlefield 4 pulling back 4th. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag plunders 5th with Just Dance 2014 boogying 6th.
