World in Conflict developer working on "next-gen project"

Ubisoft Massive has revealed they're cooking up a "next-gen project" via a job listing for an Online Game Programmer. The studio created PC RTS World in Conflict way back when.

They are also developing the online component for Ubisoft's upcoming Far Cry 3. This new project needs "modern AAA Online game features," and it'll be heading for multiple platforms.

Author sues Ubisoft over Assassin's Creed for 'memories through ancestors'

American author John Beiswenger wrote a novel called Link which published in 2002, in which a person in a lab experiences memories through the eyes of his ancestors.

That sounds somewhat familiar doesn't it? That's the problem asserts Beiswenger, because Ubisoft has pinched a piece of his own storyline for the Animus in Assassin's Creed.

The videogame market in the UK has not been a pretty sight, and the trend has continued in February 2012 where the market saw a 29% drop in sales in a year-to-year comparison with February 2011. 2.3M games were sold for £55m last month.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 ruled the roost in the slow month, while Battlefield 3 finally overtook Modern Warfare 3 in chart position. Electronic Arts accounted for 3 of the top 10 sellers.

SSX conquers peak of UK chart, Mario Party 9 debuts 3rd

EA Sports' return of SSX has kept last week's UK all format chart cool at the top, followed by FIFA 12. Despite no stock at GAME, Mario Party 9 secured itself a launch in 3rd place.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss slinks down 4th, while Assassin's Creed: Revelations hookblades to 9th from 31st. Batman: Arkham City pulled a Lazarus climbing 12th from 29th.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations will be receiving The Lost Archive DLC package next week at the end of the month. Ubisoft has now spilled the Animus-simulated beans on what to expect.

Fans get to explore the rather mysterious life of Subject 16; who he is and what role he's played. Additional missions in the form of puzzle-platforming will explore 'Clay Kaczmarek'.
