Not only will Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, the remake of the classic Bioware RPG, have online co-op play, but the online co-op can be enjoyed crossplatform. In other words, players can do some co-op between PC, iPad, Android, or Mac.

The guys over at Beamdog have answered some fan questions about the upcoming Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. There will be a higher level cap coded into the game.

A bad time with Nintendo means no Wii U. A boxed copy is possible to compliment the digital launch. There's plenty of language localisation going on. No more than 6 to a party.

Beamdog head Trent Oster has indicated during exchanges on Twitter that if Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition are successful, he may turn his eyes towards the game's cousin, Icewind Dale.

Cameron Tofer of Beamdog says they're not all about just restoring classics like their Baldur's Gate project for PC and iPad this summer, they also want new RPGs to feast on.

Providing there's large enough interest in BG's return the "the next logical step" could be a Baldur's Gate 3 or "whatever" comes to mind. Beamdog might jump on the Kickstarter bandwagon.

Beamdog, the developer working on Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition and its sequel, are hoping to generate enough interest in the classic Dungeons & Dragons-licensed roleplaying game to fund Baldur's Gate 3.

BeamDog dev Cameron Tofer declared, "Baldur's Gate 3 has been our long term goal," the added, "We have a lot of things to put in place before such a project can be launched. So currently there is no such project but that's the one we want to do. Our thoughts have been that Enhanced Edition for BG 1 and 2 just make sense before there's any Baldur's Gate 3."
