Yeah, I know, there should be an apostrophe in "Tanker's". BF1942 doesn't allow apostrophes in the map name though unless you edit a particular file which may cause trouble playing online. You'll just have to live with it.
This is a small Head-On map for people who want to destroy stuff with tanks, or destroy tanks. Each side gets 2 light tanks and a heavy tank, and must rush the center outpost. Once the outpost is captured, the ticket bleed starts. A pair of PaK40 anti-tank guns and stationary MGs will spawn to help you defend the outpost. You won't be able to spawn at the outpost if you capture it, so do your best to stay alive.
Flanking plays a vital role in this map. You can sneak around the outside of the island and move in behind the enemy if they're mostly inland, or you can sneak a tank onto one of the hills and use the trees as cover so you can ambush passers-by. Despite the map being so simple, there's a lot of different methods for securing a victory. Actually, that's probably because it's so simple - the freedom of being able to use most of the map to attack a single point.
I was bored, so reskins are abundant here. Most of the handweapons get a new look, as do all of the tanks. US tanks are a more mottled sand/green, while the Germans have a splinter pattern on their sand/grey tanks. In addition, I swapped the No.4 in the US Engineer kit for the M1 Garand.
The rain effect in the map was coded and textured by ctz, I did a bit of code optimizing for framerate purposes. The PaK40 is by DICE, from Liberation of Caen.
Move 'Tankers_Hell.rfa' to your levels directory, in my case:
C: -> Program Files -> EA Games -> Battlefield 1942 -> Mods -> bf1942 -> Archives -> bf1942 -> levels
For uninstalling, just delete the RFA file. Simple.
You can give it out to your friends, edit it, or make new maps based on it but just don't take credit for stuff you didn't do. I wouldn't appreciate that.
Distribute this file around as many websites as you like, but keep this readme with the map. Any version that is edited/modified (e.g. adding another vehicle or something) should be clearly noted so.
If this busts your computer in any way, I'm not responsible. Sorry, but it was your decision to install it.
DICE, for such a long-lasting and entertaining game.
ctz for the wonderful weather effects, which I get so much use out of.

If you've got problems running your game in general, please keep in mind I'm a mapper, not a troubleshooting desk. Some things I just can't explain or fix. I'm only human.
