ABOUT
|---|/

Here's a little something for you Ace Combat fans - and those of you who have no idea who/what this is might find some appeal in it too. I've reskinned the F-15C to look like Cipher's aircraft from Ace Combat Zero, complete with correct UAF markings, the Galm logo, and the correct squadron/aircraft code (VL032).

There are some differences from 'the real thing'. The number isn't present on the nose (mirror-imaging be damned), and the diagonal blue section shouldn't be on the inside of the tail (I had to put it there because the inside and outside bits of the tail share the texture mapping for the rudders).

I was also going to do Pixy's F-15, but aforementioned mirror-imaging would have made both wings red. Guess I'll just have to reskin the F-16 to resemble a Crow Squadron/PJ's aircraft. That or the very sexy 'Classic Windhover' scheme from Ace Combat 6...

Includes LOD & wreckage skins.

INSTALLATION:
|---------|/

Installation (for the game in general):

Extract the 'texture.rfa' file found under 'Archives' in your Desert Combat folder. Move all of these files into the directory 'DesertCombat/F15C' and overwrite the old files (back them up first just in case). Repack the texture.rfa and you should be good to go.

Installation (for a map-by-map basis):

Extract your map file and create a folder called 'Texture', place the skin in the folder, and repack the map. If the skin isn't showing up, open the init.con file for your map and somewhere near the top add the line:

textureManager.alternativePath bf1942/levels/LevelName/Texture

Everytime you save in Battlecraft that line will be overwritten however. If the skin isn't showing up double-check that it's still there.

If you don't have an RFA extractor, you can use Battlecraft 42 to add the skin to your map file. While your map is open, go 'Tools -> Add File To Archive'. Press 'Add' and select the skins, then press OK. Then in the 'Destination' box, type 'bf1942/levels/LevelName/Texture/' and hit OK. Save the map, and the next time you run the map the skin should appear.
